Scott Baker (elbow) has been cleared to rejoin the Twins rotation Saturday after a successful bullpen session Wednesday.
Baker also had a good bullpen session last Friday and appeared to be ready to start two days ago, but the Twins decided to play it safe and push him back a few days. He has been sidelined since July 7 with a mild strain in his pitching elbow. Baker will bring a 3.01 ERA into Saturday's outing against the Tigers.

Assuming he came out of the side session OK, Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said that he will come off the disabled list to start Saturday against the Tigers. Baker has been sidelined since July 7 with a strained right elbow.

It had looked like a rehab assignment was inevitable, but it sounds like they're holding out the possibility that he could rejoin the Twins rotation over the weekend. Baker has been sidelined since July 5 with a mild flexor muscle strain in his pitching elbow.

Scott Baker (elbow) will throw a bullpen session Wednesday or Thursday before Minnesota decides if he will make his next start.
Baker will rest for a few days and will likely embark on a short minor-league rehab stint before coming off the disabled list unless his next bullpen goes extremely well. He's eligible to return on Friday, but that doesn't seem likely.

Baker hasn't pitched since July 5 after leaving that start with a mild flexor muscle strain in his pitching elbow. He's eligible to be activated Friday, but a rehab assignment would rule out such a quick return. Baker boasts a 3.01 ERA in 17 starts this season.

Twins placed RHP Scott Baker on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 5, with a a mild flexor muscle strain in his right elbow.
Baker hasn't pitched since July 5 after leaving that start with a mild flexor muscle strain in his pitching elbow. Baker is eligible to return in a couple days, so the hope is that he'll miss just one more start. He was cleared for Monday's start after a successful bullpen session Friday, but something must have happened between now and then. Baker boasts a 3.01 ERA in 17 starts this season.

Baker missed just one start with a a mild flexor muscle strain in his pitching elbow. There's always the concern that the injury might crop up again, but for now he appears to be just fine. Baker boasts a 3.01 ERA in 17 starts this season.

Assuming it goes off without a hitch, he'll be cleared to start on Monday against the Indians. Anthony Swarzak will get the ball Monday if Baker isn't cleared, but the Twins are expecting him to be fine.

Anthony Swarzak will start in Baker's place Sunday, but the Twins hope that's the only start he'll miss after they push him back to the No. 5 slot following the All-Star break. Baker left his last outing with a mild flexor muscle strain in his pitching elbow.

They're hoping the 12 days of rest between starts will be enough to allow him to get over a mild flexor muscle strain in his pitching elbow. Francisco Liriano is expected to get the ball next Thursday in the team's first game after the break.
