Scott Baker (elbow) will rest for a few days, throw a bullpen session and probably have a short minor-league rehab appearance before coming off the disabled list, according to Joe Christensen of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Baker hasn't pitched since July 5 after leaving that start with a mild flexor muscle strain in his pitching elbow. He's eligible to be activated Friday, but a rehab assignment would rule out such a quick return. Baker boasts a 3.01 ERA in 17 starts this season.
