Kalish cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Iowa on Sunday, MLB.com's Carrie Muskat reports. Kalish failed to make much of a splash during his time with the Cubs this season, batting .242 with no homers and three stolen bases. He'll see more regular at-bats at Triple-A, but profiles as no better than a fourth or fifth outfielder at the major league level at this point in his career.

Kalish was designated for assignment Friday, MLB.com's Carrie Muskat reports. Kalish hit .242/.303/.330 with the Cubs this season over 39 games, but was demoted to Triple-A and has now been taken off the 40-man roster to make room for Jacob Turner, who the Cubs just acquired from the Marlins. This likely eliminates him as a candidate for September call-ups.

Cubs optioned OF Ryan Kalish to Triple-A Iowa. Kalish was struggling to the tune of a .242/.303/.330 slash line in 100 plate appearances. He'll try to get right at the Triple-A level and return to Chicago as a useful reserve outfielder. The 26-year-old was a Top 100 prospect at one point with the Red Sox.

Ryan Kalish went 2-for-4 with a stolen base against the Brewers on Sunday. Batting leadoff, Kalish collected two singles and also stole his second base of the season. He's hitting .268 and should continue to get regular at-bats in an underwhelming Cubs outfield while Justin Ruggiano is sidelined.

Ryan Kalish went 0-for-4 and committed an error in left field Thursday against the Diamondbacks. Kalish stands to benefit some from Justin Ruggiano's injury, though time will tell how much. Today's start was just his third in 12 days, though he hasn't looked bad when given the chance. Right now, neither he nor Junior Lake are particularly strong plays in NL-only leagues.

Ryan Kalish went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts as the Cubs' No. 2 hitter on Thursday. After a nice game Sunday against the Phillies (2B, 3B, 3 RBI, 2 BB), Kalish started two of the three games versus the Pirates, but he finished the series 0-for-8 with four strikeouts. The Cubs are going with their hot hands in the outfield, so Kalish will see his opportunities ebb and flow based on his performance.

Ryan Kalish will be on the Cubs' Opening Day roster. Kalish will serve as a semi-active backup outfielder for Chicago. The 25-year-old former Red Sox prospect batted .265/.347/.424 last summer in the minor leagues.

Ryan Kalish (shoulder) declared this week that he's fully healthy and ready to compete for a job in the Cubs outfield this spring. "I feel great. I'm as healthy as I've been" he said during an interview with Carrie Muskat of MLB.com. The 25-year-old outfielder has been limited to just 93 games since the beginning of the 2011 season due to various ailments, but is now fully recovered and looking to get his career back on track. He brings a potentially intriguing combination of power and speed from the left-handed side of the plate, and could be worth a look in NL-only leagues if he cracks the Opening Day roster.

Cubs signed OF Ryan Kalish to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Kalish was non-tendered by the Red Sox at the beginning of December. He's had bad luck with injuries in recent years and will try to revitalize his career in the Cubs' system.

Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reports that the Cubs have some interest in Ryan Kalish. Kalish was non-tended by the Red Sox earlier this month, and Cafardo says Boston will not re-sign him. It's no surprise that the Cubs are intrigued, though, as Kalish's former GM is now in Chicago and is aware of his upside. Of course, the talent has never been a question with Kalish. He's been limited to just 93 games since the beginning of 2011 due to a variety of injuries but is expected to be ready for spring training.
