Gsellman (hamstring) yielded six runs (three earned) on seven hits and three walks in 2.2 innings during his rehab start for Double-A Binghamton on Sunday. He struck out one batter in the 69-pitch outing.
EDGE Analysis
Though Gsellman tossed 13 more pitches than he had in his initial rehab start with Binghamton, the results were far worse, which will likely pump the brakes on any talk of the right-hander coming off the disabled list to rejoin the Mets rotation this week. Even when healthy earlier this season, Gsellman was disastrous in a rotation role with the big club, turning in a 6.38 ERA and giving up 13 home runs in 14 starts. As a result, the Mets could earmark Gsellman for relief duty once he's ready to return from the DL.

Gsellman (hamstring) is slated to begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Binghamton on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Gsellman has been slowly working his way back from a left hamstring strain suffered during a June 27 outing and finally seems able to return to live action. It's unclear how many rehab appearances the right-hander will require before he's able to return to the Mets, but he should slot back into the injury-hampered rotation upon his activation. Gsellman racked up a 6.16 ERA over 17 games (14 starts) and a .303 BAA prior to being sidelined.

Gsellman, out since his June 27 start with a strained left hamstring, is not yet ready to start a throwing program, Newsday reports. "He's again doing the rehab stuff and making sure his leg's OK," manager Terry Collins said. "But we can't do too much throwing-wise until we know his legs are going to be able to handle it."
EDGE Analysis
Gsellman was injured running to first base during that June outing. He is likely at least a week away from beginning a throwing program, which if all goes well, probably puts him almost a month away from rejoining the Mets.

Gsellman (hamstring) was officially placed on the disabled list Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gsellman left Tuesday's contest after suffering a left hamstring strain in the forth inning. The right-hander had been struggling on the mound recently, allowing 17 earned runs over his last three starts (12.1 innings). Gsellman is likely to return before the All-Star break since the injury seems to be a minor setback. In his place, the team recalled infielder Matt Reynolds and added him to the 25-man roster.

Gsellman exited Tuesday's game against the Marlins with a left hamstring strain, David Lennon of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gsellman strained his hamstring while attempting to beat out a groundball in the fourth inning and is now sure to be added to the lengthy list of Mets' pitchers who have been forced to make a trip to the disabled list this season. The team will likely make a decision regarding his status in the very near future.

Gsellman exited Tuesday's game against Marlins after three innings with an apparent hamstring injury, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gsellman appeared to injure his left hamstring while attempting to beat out an infield single in the top of the fourth inning. He was immediately attended to by the team trainer before limping into the Mets' dugout. The 23-year-old allowed three runs on five hits, while adding four strikeouts over the opening three frames. He was relieved by Paul Sewald. We will await official word on his injury following the conclusion of Tuesday's contest.

Gsellman (5-5) gave up eight runs (seven earned) on nine hits and three walks over 4.1 innings against the Dodgers on Tuesday. Four of the hits he allowed were home runs.
EDGE Analysis
Gsellman's now experienced consecutive seven-run catastrophes, and considering that he wasn't doing all that swimmingly even before these last two outings, it's getting hard to justify hanging onto him in most fantasy formats. Last season's 2.42 ERA is looking an awful lot like a flash in the pan, but with few alternatives in the pipeline, the Mets will have to stick with Gsellman for a while yet. He's lined up to make his next start Sunday in San Francisco.

Gsellman (5-4) allowed seven runs on 11 hits and two walks while striking out just three batters over five innings during Thursday's loss to Washington.
EDGE Analysis
After spinning one of his best starts of the season last time out, this was a discouraging followup from Gsellman, and especially with the Mets trying to chase down the Nationals in the National League East Division. His 5.50 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 6.7 K/9 aren't target-worthy fantasy marks, and his next start projects to be at Dodger Stadium against Los Angeles. Don't fret ignoring Gsellman at this stage of the game.

Gsellman (5-3) pitched 6.2 scoreless innings with just three hits and two walks allowed while striking out four batters during Saturday's win over Atlanta during the first game of their doubleheader.
EDGE Analysis
This was easily the best start of the season for Gsellman, and it bodes well for his chances of sticking in the rotation for another turn. He sports a 4.95 ERA and 1.46 WHIP with 48 strikeouts through 63.2 innings, so he's hardly a go-to fantasy option, and his next projected start would be against the Nationals. It's probably wise to stay clear of the righty considering the daunting upcoming matchup and his poor results this season.

Gsellman is scheduled to start one of the doubleheader games Saturday against the Braves, James Wagner of The New York Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Saturday start could be Gsellman's last in the majors for a while, as the Mets are set to welcome back Steven Matz (elbow) and Seth Lugo (eblow) from the disabled list by next weekend, both of whom are expected to retain rotation spots ahead of the 23-year-old right-hander. While Gsellman has pitched well his last three times out against the Padres, Brewers and Pirates, he's still carrying a 5.53 ERA and 1.54 WHIP over 57 innings this season, which may be enough to convince manager Terry Collins to give Lugo a look as the fifth starter.
