Suarez (back) will throw a bullpen session Sunday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez has been on the 15-day injured list since late June due to a low back spasm, but interim manager Rob Thomson recently said that there's an "outside chance" that the southpaw will rejoin the rotation prior to the All-Star break. A better idea of Suarez's status will likely come into focus based on how he feels after Sunday's bullpen.

Suarez was placed on the 15-day injured list with a low back spasm Sunday, retroactive to June 30.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez gave up four runs in 6.2 innings during Wednesday's start against Atlanta, and it's possible that his injury contributed to his struggles. He'll be forced to miss at least two weeks due to the issue. The Phillies haven't yet announced their updated rotation plans, but Cristopher Sanchez and Kent Emanuel are candidates to serve as starters.

Suarez (6-5) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in 6.2 innings, taking the loss Wednesday versus Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez allowed a pair of runs in each of the fourth and seventh innings. That latter surge from Atlanta denied the southpaw a chance for consecutive quality starts, a feat he's achieved once this year. He's now at a 4.33 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 64:33 K:BB through 79 innings overall. Suarez lines up for a favorable home start versus the Nationals next week as he looks to bounce back from this defeat.

Suarez (6-4) earned the win Thursday over the Padres. He allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 7.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez threw 61 of 94 pitches for strikes and limited the damage to an Eric Hosmer solo home run in the second inning and a Jorge Alfaro RBI groundout in the eighth. This was Suarez's longest outing of the season, and the sixth time in 14 starts he's limited the opponent to two or fewer runs. For the year, he's posted a 4.23 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 57:31 K:BB across 72.1 innings. A 4.3 BB/9 has held him back in 2022 -- he had a 2.8 BB/9 in 106 innings last year, though he split time between the rotation and the bullpen. He's projected for a home start versus Atlanta next week.

Suarez improved to 5-4 on the season in Game 1 of Friday's doubleheader against the Nationals, allowing three runs on six hits in 5.2 innings while striking out five batters and walking three.
EDGE Analysis
A single-game ERA of 4.76 and a single-game WHIP of 1.59 are hardly impressive numbers, but Suarez did what he needed to do in a game in which the Phillies took a 2-0 lead before he even stepped onto the mound. For most of his outing, his performance was better than his final line suggests, as an RBI double by Lane Thomas in the third inning represented his only blemish through five frames. He was chased from the game in the fifth inning, however, after allowing a two-run homer by Josh Bell followed by a single from Maikel Franco. Suarez will try to lower his mediocre 4.43 ERA next Thursday against the Padres.

Suarez (4-4) allowed four runs (two earned) on four hits and four walks over 4.1 innings Sunday, striking out two and taking a loss against Arizona.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez coughed up three runs in the first inning but he then settled in to throw three scoreless frames. The 26-year-old was then knocked out of the contest in the fifth inning after Christian Walker's RBI double. After going 3-1 with a 3.72 ERA through his first seven starts, Suarez is 0-3 with an unsightly 5.48 ERA over his last five outings. He's projected to take the mound in Washington next week.

Suarez tossed seven innings, giving up two runs on six hits while striking out five in Tuesday's win over the Brewers. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez was effective Tuesday, limiting the Brewers to six baserunners. He allowed an RBI double to Andrew McCutchen in the first frame and another one to Rowdy Tellez later in the fourth inning before tossing three more scoreless frames before ending his day on the mound. The seven inning outing tied his longest start of the season and he has now given up four runs over 11.1 frames in his last two outings after giving up five runs in 4.1 innings to the Braves on May 25. Suarez now owns a 4.42 ERA and 1.47 WHIP with 47 punchouts over 55 innings in 11 starts this year.

Suarez didn't factor into the decision during Tuesday's loss to the Giants after giving up two runs on five hits over 4.1 innings. He had five strikeouts and three walks.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez started off with four scoreless frames, but he stumbled during the fifth inning and was pulled after allowing a pair of singles, both of which came around to score after his departure. The left-hander threw only 58 of his 100 pitches for strikes and issued at least three walks for the fourth time this year. Tuesday's effort is the third consecutive outing Suarez has failed to complete five innings, and he now has a 4.69 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 42:22 K:BB over 48 innings this season.

Suarez (4-3) got tagged with the loss Wednesday after he tossed 4.1 innings, surrendering five runs on six hits and four walks while striking out four versus the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez was lit up in the second inning, giving up four runs including a solo homer by William Contreras. He later allowed a leadoff single to Dansby Swanson in the fifth frame, who later came around to score after the left-hander exited with one out in the inning. After registering two consecutive quality starts, Suarez has now been forced out of two straight outings early, giving up eight runs over 7.1 frames in those contests. Following the rough stretch, his ERA and WHIP have jumped from 3.72 and 1.38 to an inflated 4.74 and 1.53 respectively over 43.2 innings this season. He tentatively lines up to face the Giants on Monday in another tough matchup.

Suarez (4-2) took the loss Friday, giving up three runs on five hits and two walks over three innings in a 4-1 loss to the Dodgers. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty needed 84 pitches (48 strikes) to record only nine outs, and he got stuck with the loss when the Phillies' offense couldn't repeat last week's success against Julio Urias. Suarez has seen his numbers take a big step backward so far in 2022. He's posted a 4.12 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 19.0 percent strikeout rate through 39.1 innings.
