Goldschmidt is out of the lineup against the Cubs on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Torey Lovullo appears to be waving the white flag in regards to the slim chance of his club still making the postseason, as he elected to rest most of Arizona's regulars for the series finale versus Chicago. In Goldschmidt's place, Christian Walker will start at first base.

Goldschmidt went 2-for-4 with a double, stolen base and a run in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Goldschmidt reached base for the 48th consecutive road game, extending the franchise record he already held. Though the Diamondbacks have seen their playoff hopes take a major hit after dropping four of their last five games, Goldschmidt has been even more excellent than usual in September, hitting .395/.500/.711 with as many walks (eight) as strikeouts. While Goldschmidt is on pace to finish with his typically stellar marks in the batting average and power-production categories, his involvement on the basepaths has taken a hit in his age-30 campaign. The stolen base he notched Wednesday was just his sixth of the season and first in nearly a month.

Goldschmidt went 2-for-4 with his 31st home run of the season, a double and two RBI in the Diamondbacks' 3-2 loss to the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Goldschmidt's two-run shot off Hyun-Jin Ryu extended the first baseman's on-base streak to a career-best and franchise-record 43 consecutive road contests. The 30-year-old has continued to keep himself in the conversation for NL MVP consideration with a huge second half, during which he's slashed .322/.420/.584 with 10 home runs, 26 RBI and 22 runs in 38 contests.

Goldschmidt went 3-for-3 with a two-run homer, a double and a walk in Wednesday's win over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
It was a perfect day at the plate for Goldschmidt, as he reached base all four times, led off by his two-run blast in the first inning. The 30-year-old is red-hot entering the stretch run of the season, as he's in the midst of a 14-game hitting streak and is 29-for-70 (.414) with 12 extra-base hits and 14 RBI since the calendar flipped to August.

Goldschmidt went 4-for-4 with a double and four RBI in the Diamondbacks' 7-6 loss to the Padres on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The red-hot Goldschmidt is now riding an 11-game hitting streak, matching his longest of the season. Over that stretch, he's slashing .438/.481/.792 with nine extra-base hits (four home runs), 11 RBI and eight runs. While Goldschmidt remains in the thick of contention for the NL MVP award, his counting-stats production still lags well behind his usual marks. He's on pace to finish with 93 RBI and 102 runs, both of which would be his lowest outputs in those categories since 2014.

Goldschmidt went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
After taking Yovani Gallardo deep to left field in the first inning, Goldschmidt is now just three long balls shy of reaching the 30-homer plateau for the fourth time in his career. He's been delivering the power production at an even more prodigious rate than usual recently, slugging three home runs and four doubles over his last seven games.

Goldschmidt went 0-for-1 with three walks and a stolen base in the Diamondbacks' 3-2 loss to the Giants on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The three free passes matched a season high for Goldschmidt, who was also walked three times on two occasions early in the campaign. He's now reached base in 13 consecutive games, submitting a gaudy 13:10 BB:K over that stretch. While Goldschmidt's on-base (.388) and slugging (.519) percentages are comparable to his recent seasons, the first baseman's stolen-base production has lagged more than anticipated. He's notched just four steals in seven attempts in 2018 after recording 21, 32 and 18 thefts over the last three seasons.

Goldschmidt went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run Sunday against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Goldschmidt took southpaw Joey Lucchesi deep in the first inning for his 23rd home run of the season. He has hit left-handers extremely hard this season, recording a .604 slugging percentage against them through 111 at-bats. While he likely won't match his prolific production in June again this season, he has continued to hit for power as Sunday's longball marked his sixth in July.

Goldschmidt went 2-for-5 with a solo home run Monday in the Diamondbacks' 7-1 win over the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Goldschmidt's second-inning blast ended a stretch of six games without an extra-base hit along with a 1-for-12 drought at the plate to begin the second half. Wrigley Field has long been one of the All-Star first baseman's favorite places to hit, as the two-hit performance boosted his career average to .361 over 138 at-bats at the park. He could make for a worthy building block in DFS lineups while the Diamondbacks remain in Chicago through Thursday.

Sun 7/22/18 10:30 AM

Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored Saturday in the Diamondbacks' 6-5 loss to the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Goldschmidt's production has tailed off of late, as the All-Star first baseman has scored just once and hasn't driven in any runs over his last six games while striking out 10 times over that stretch. The rough patch is likely little more than a blip on the radar for Goldschmidt, who bounced back from a more extended slump in the spring to deliver a massive June.
