Corbin (elbow) is on track to begin a rehab assignment next week or the following week, MLB.com's Steve Gilbert reports. Corbin is scheduled to throw once more at the team's extended spring training complex Monday, and if all goes well during that session, he will be cleared to begin a rehab assignment shortly thereafter. Corbin will need to build up his arm strength before he is ready to pitch for the Diamondbacks, but he could make his 2015 debut for the club sometime in June.

Corbin threw well in his first rehab start in extended spring training Tuesday, reports Arizona Republic's Nick Piecoro. Corbin remains about a month away from returning to a major league mound, and he will still need several rehabs starts prior to that, but this is an encouraging report. It is not clear yet whose spot he would take in the rotation when we he returns.

Corbin (elbow) tossed a 30-pitch simulated game at Chase Field on Tuesday, the Associated Press reports. Manager Chip Hale said afterward that Corbin was able to mix all his pitches and looked good during the session. The lefty is in line for another simulated game Sunday back at extended spring training, after which he may soon be ready to start a rehab assignment.

Corbin (elbow) threw his first bullpen session Tuesday since having Tommy John surgery last March, the Arizona Republic reports. The session Tuesday included 20 pitches -- all fastballs -- and Corbin is expected to progress through adding changeups before working breaking pitches back into the mix. The Diamondbacks are hoping to get Corbin back into their rotation in June, which will likely follow a complete 30-day rehab assignment in the minor leagues as he stretches out following the long absence.

Corbin (elbow) has been playing catch from 105 feet at the Diamondbacks' Spring Training Facility, Steve Gilbert of the Arizona Republic reports.Corbin missed the entire 2014 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery. Although the recovery time is normally 12 months, the team sees Corbin's recovery more as a 15-month plan. He'll continue moving back 15 feet every week until he hits 150 feet. He went 14-8 with a 3.41 ERA in 2013.

The D-backs remain hopeful that Corbin (elbow) will be ready to return to their rotation by June, the Arizona Republic reports. Even though Corbin had Tommy John surgery in late March, the expectations from the team have consistently pointed to a return closer to 14 months than 12. The typical range is 12-to-18 months, and the D-backs lack pitching depth on the big league roster, so ensuring that Corbin is brought along carefully is easy to rationalize.

Corbin (elbow) may not be ready to pitch for the Diamondbacks until June of next season, Scott Bordow of the Arizona Republic reports. Manager Kirk Gibson said Wednesday that the Diamondbacks are proceeding conservatively with their treatment of Corbin, who underwent season-ending Tommy John surgery on Mar. 25. With Corbin's long-term interests in mind, the Diamondbacks have already ruled him out from returning to the Opening Day rotation, and will look to manage his innings in 2015 as he returns from a major procedure. As the pitching staff currently stands, Wade Miley looks poised to enter next season as the Diamondbacks' ace.
