Patrick Corbin (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery Tuesday.
The surgery was performed by Dr. James Andrews. Corbin will miss the entire 2013 season and might be a bit behind at the start of 2014. However, he still has a very promising future.

Patrick Corbin (elbow) will visit with Dr. James Andrews on Monday.
A previous report from Jack Magruder of FOXSportsArizona.com said that Corbin was having Tommy John surgery Monday, but no decision has been made yet and he's merely going for a consultation. Still, with damage to his ulnar collateral ligament, surgery feels inevitable.

Patrick Corbin is scheduled to undergo Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery on Monday.
The procedure will be performed by Dr. James Andrews. Corbin tore the ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow in a March 15 Cactus League game and can be ruled out for the entire 2014 season. He might also need a late start to the 2015 campaign.

Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports that Tommy John surgery has been recommended to Patrick Corbin (elbow).
He'll get a second opinion this week before making a final decision, but season-ending surgery looks to be a given. The loss of Corbin is a massive one for the D'Backs, who will now likely go to Randall Delgado to fill out their rotation. Top prospect Archie Bradley also figures to spend plenty of time in the majors this year.

Patrick Corbin said Sunday that he will decide after a second opinion this week whether to rehab or undergo Tommy John surgery to repair a partial tear of his ulnar collateral ligament.
It would be shocking if he chooses rehab, as it's something that simply doesn't work. Corbin revealed that he's been nursing some elbow tightness all spring but had chalked it up to fatigue. The issue came to a head in his last outing, when the pain became too much during Corbin's final three pitches.

Patrick Corbin left Saturday's game against the Indians due to left forearm stiffness, Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said.
"Rest assured, we will be cautious," Gibson said after the game. Gibson said Corbin felt the stiffness below the elbow, prompting him to leave the game mid-at-bat. Corbin returned to Salt River Field to be checked out by team trainers after leaving. Corbin's availability for the opening start against the Dodgers in Australia is in question.

Patrick Corbin left a Cactus League game against the Indians in the middle of an at-bat in the seventh inning Saturday.
Corbin had been pitching pretty well, allowing two unearned runs over 6 1/3 innings while striking out seven. Corbin got to 2-2 on a batter before leaving with Arizona's trainer. It's unclear what the issue might be -- it's even possible he just hit his pitch count -- but we'll likely know more soon. As it is, Corbin is slated to be the Diamondbacks' starter for the opening game in Australia.

Patrick Corbin allowed two runs in four innings of work in Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Royals.
Corbin struck out four, but allowed five hits and two walks in an otherwise shaky outing. Not to worry, though, as the southpaw should be ready to start the regular season opener on March 22 in Australia.

Patrick Corbin will start for the Diamondbacks in their regular-season opener against the Dodgers.
That game will be played on March 22 at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Australia. D'Backs manager Kirk Gibson made the announcement Monday on his personal Twitter account, also anointing Trevor Cahill as the Game 2 starter for the two-game set in Sydney. Corbin, 24, went 14-8 with a 3.41 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 178/54 K/BB ratio in 208 1/3 innings last season for the Snakes.
