Corbin worked seven shutout innings Saturday, scattering five hits while striking out five, to pick up his sixth win of the season.
EDGE Analysis
It's his fifth straight quality start, and Corbin now has a scintillating 1.44 ERA, 0.989 WHIP and 25:2 K:BB ratio in 31.1 innings over that stretch. Corbin's next start will be a tough one though, on the road Thursday against the Dodgers in a matchup against Clayton Kershaw.

Corbin (5-4) lost a pitching duel on Sunday, giving up two runs on eight hits while striking out four batters through six innings in a 4-3 loss to the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
He's given up just five runs in his last 24.1 innings and posted a 20:2 K:BB over that span, but he was no match for Zach Greinke on Sunday. While he gave up just one extra-base hit in the contest, Corbin was undone by multi-hit first and third innings as Justin Turner and Scott Van Slyke each drove in a run with runners in scoring position. Corbin will make his next start on the road against the Giants.

Corbin won his fifth game behind six shutout innings Monday against San Francisco, as he allowed six hits and didn't walk a batter. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Corbin has yet to be fully unleashed -- he threw just 85 pitches Monday and hasn't thrown more than 91 all year -- but it looks like he's found his form. He has quality starts in seven of his past nine starts dating back to July 24 and lowered his ERA to 3.32 to go with an impeccable 61:13 K:BB.

Corbin (4-3) submitted a strong outing in Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Rockies, covering 6.1 innings and giving up two runs to earn the win.
EDGE Analysis
Corbin needed only 78 pitches to record the 19 outs, while scattering seven hits (including two solo homers) and striking out four batters. The performance is all the more impressive upon considering that it came at Coors Field, where Corbin had posted a 6.45 ERA over four career starts heading into Tuesday. The lefty's next turn is expected to come Sunday on the road against the Cubs, the league's most strikeout-prone lineup.

Corbin took the loss Saturday, allowing four runs on four hits (including three home runs) and a walk over five innings, striking out five. Serving up three home runs in a game isn't good under the best of circumstances, but when you do it against the weak-hitting Mets in Citi Field, you know you've had a bad day. Corbin still has plenty of rust to shake of given that he missed all of 2014 due to Tommy John surgery, but you may want to leave him on your reserve list until he shows he can string some solid performances together.

Corbin won his first start of the season Saturday over Colorado, pitching five innings while allowing two runs on eight hits and striking out three. Corbin threw 76 pitches (56 of them for strikes) in his return to a major league mound after 2014 Tommy John surgery. It was an impressive debut for the former All-Star, but worth noting that the D-backs indicated he wouldn't be allowed to go over 90 pitches in this outing and pulled him well before that mark. Corbin is likely to be on restricted pitch counts in his starts for much of the remainder of the season.

Corbin (elbow) will officially start against the Rockies on Saturday. A corresponding move to clear space on the 25-man and 40-man roster will likely come after Friday's game. The start will be Corbin's first since September of 2013. Through four rehab starts, Corbin had an 11:7 K:BB over 17 innings between High-A Visalia and Double-A Mobile.

Manager Chip Hale is leaning towards giving Corbin (elbow) the start Saturday against the Rockies, Nick Piecoro of Azcentral.com reports. Corbin was expected to return next week for the Diamondbacks' series against the Rangers, but now it looks like he may fill the empty spot in the rotation on Saturday. Still, no official announcement has been made at this point. Regardless, Corbin appears to be nearing a pre-All Star break return regardless of whether he gets the nod Saturday or not.

Corbin (elbow) will make his return to the D-backs' rotation when they host Texas on July 7-8, reports Fox Sports Arizona's Kevin Zimmerman. There is finally a target date for Corbin's anticipated return. It sounds like the Diamondbacks will still proceed cautiously with his initial start, but if he's truly healthy his workload will ramp up quickly. As with all pitchers returning from Tommy John, Corbin will likely not perform up to his past level initially, but he still has an all-star level ceiling.

Corbin (elbow) will make one more rehab start before returning to the D-backs, after having his best outing in his comeback from Tommy John surgery Friday. Corbin threw six innings, giving up one run on four hits and two walks, while striking out five for Double-A Mobile. It looks like Corbin will return to the D-backs before the all-star break, but an exact return date and where his last rehab assignment will take place are unknown right now. This is positive news, especially after his comeback was slowed down following discomfort after an extended spring training outing. He has shown good velocity as his rehab has progressed, but his command will dictate his success when he gets back to facing major league hitters.
