Corbin agreed to a six-year deal with the Nationals on Tuesday, Chelsea Janes of The Washington Post reports.

EDGE Analysis

Corbin will round out an impressive rotation in Washington that already sports Max Scherzer and Stephen Strasburg. The 29-year-old Corbin was rewarded after his breakout campaign in 2018, during which he posted an impressive 3.15 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 246:48 K:BB across 200 innings (33 starts) with the Diamondbacks.

Corbin declined the Diamondbacks' one-year, $17.9 million qualifying offer and became a free agent Monday, Jon Heyman of FancredSports.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

This was expected, as Corbin is primed for a big payday this offseason following his breakout campaign in 2018. Across 33 starts for Arizona, the 29-year-old southpaw went 11-7 with a 3.15 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 246:48 K:BB (200.0 innings) en route to his second All-Star selection.

Corbin received a $17.9 million qualifying offer from the Diamondbacks on Friday, Jon Heyman of FancredSports.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Corbin is expected to turn down the offer for 2019 and ink a multi-year deal this winter after his breakout campaign in 2018. The southpaw posted a 3.15 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 246:48 K:BB across 33 starts (200 innings) for the Diamondbacks en route to his second career All-Star selection. The Diamondbacks will now receive a draft pick if Corbin signs elsewhere.

Corbin threw five innings in a no-decision against the Padres on Friday, giving up three hits in Arizona's 3-2 extra-innings defeat. He struck out four and walked one.

EDGE Analysis

Corbin wrapped up his fantastic 2018 campaign with another solid showing, breezing through the Padres lineup through five innings before he departed after throwing just 58 pitches. The left-hander posted a career-best season this year with a 3.15 ERA, a terrific 1.05 WHIP and 246 strikeouts over exactly 200 innings, finally delivering on his lofty potential that had been inhibited by injuries in past seasons.

Corbin (11-7) allowed four earned runs on five hits and four walks while striking out five across three innings to take the loss Saturday against the Rockies.

EDGE Analysis

Corbin allowed three runners to reach base in the first inning, but appeared to settle in during the second frame by striking out three batters. However, Corbin found himself in trouble again in the third inning, allowing three baserunners -- all of which came around to score -- via a walk or hit by pitch. His struggle with command appears to be an isolated problem, as he entered the game not having allowed multiple walks in his previous five starts. He'll look to bounce back in his next start on Friday against the Padres.

Corbin allowed three hits and a walk while striking out seven across five scoreless innings Saturday against the Dodgers. He did not factor into the decision.

EDGE Analysis

Corbin had a short outing despite not allowing a run as the Dodgers recorded four at-bats in which he threw seven or more pitches. However, he was still able to rack up strikeouts and has now recorded at least seven strikeouts in eight consecutive starts. Corbin has already set a career-best strikeout total and is almost certain to post his best ERA and WHIP in a single season, barring a collapse in the final month of the season.

Corbin (10-5) allowed two runs on four hits and one walk across seven innings Monday while taking the loss against the Giants. He struck out nine.

EDGE Analysis

Corbin allowed a two-run home run in the second inning before settling down and allowing just two baserunners the rest of the way. Unfortunately, his teammates couldn't muster any offensive support against Chris Stratton, sinking Corbin to his first loss in the last six starts. The left-hander still threw the ball quite well and has now posted a sparkling 41:3 K:BB over his last five outings. He'll look to continue his recent success this weekend against the Dodgers.

Corbin allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out eight over six innings in Tuesday's win over the Angels. He did not factor into the decision.

EDGE Analysis

Corbin induced 18 swings and misses en route to striking out at least seven for a sixth straight start, leaving in line for the win before the bullpen gave the lead back. The lefty has been having a good season all around, but he's been especially sharp of late; in four starts in August, Corbin is 3-0 with a 2.73 ERA and 32:2 K:BB across 26.1 innings. He'll take a 3.17 ERA and 11.0 K/9 on the year into Monday's start in San Francisco.

Corbin (10-4) allowed three runs on six hits with no walks across seven innings to earn the win Tuesday against the Rangers. He struck out seven.

EDGE Analysis

Corbin allowed just one baserunner through the first three innings and gave up his first run on a sacrifice fly in the fourth. He was touched up for two more tallies on three hits in the sixth, but he escaped the jam and completed another frame before calling it a night. It was the third consecutive quality start for the left-hander, who's now recorded at least seven strikeouts in five straight outings. He owns a solid 3.18 ERA to go along with a 1.03 WHIP and a 11.0 K/9 this season, making him one of the more pleasant surprises among MLB starting pitchers.

Corbin (9-4) picked up the win Wednesday against the Phillies, allowing four hits while striking out nine batters across 7.1 scoreless innings.

EDGE Analysis

Corbin was in control throughout this one, facing the minimum through five innings -- thanks to a pair of double plays -- while allowing just one baserunner to reach second base before handing the ball over in the top of the eighth inning after 103 pitches. The 29-year-old is now 3-0 with a 2.39 ERA and 34:2 K:BB in four starts (26.1 innings) since the All-Star Break. He'll look to keep things rolling in his next start, which will come on the road against Texas on Tuesday.
