Corbin (0-1) allowed six runs on six hits and three walks while striking out five over 4.1 innings in a loss to the Dodgers on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Corbin got a tough draw in his return from the COVID-19 IL; even down both Mookie Betts and Cody Bellinger, the Dodgers' lineup is scary. The big blow was a three-run homer off the bat of Chris Taylor. The lefty threw 80 pitches and got 16 called strikes and 11 swinging strikes. Next week's start at home against the Diamondbacks will provide a better gauge of where Corbin really is skills-wise after his shaky 2020 season.

Corbin was activated from the COVID-19 injured list and is set to start Saturday's game against the Dodgers, Dan Kolko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 31-year-old was away from the team for a week due to contract tracing from the Nationals' COVID-19 outbreak, but he's set to start the fifth game of the season Saturday. However, Corbin may not be a great fantasy option since he could face some limitations in his first start of the season and due to the brief layoff.

Corbin has been cleared to return from the COVID-19 injured list and could start Saturday against the Dodgers, but manager Dave Martinez said he first wants to "get eyes on" the left-hander, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 31-year-old wasn't one of the four players activated from the COVID-19 injured list Friday, but he's apparently been cleared and is set to join the team in Los Angeles. Corbin could make his season debut Saturday against the Dodgers if everything checks out, otherwise he'll likely be inserted into the rotation sometime next week.

The Nationals placed Corbin on the COVID-19 injured list Tuesday, Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Corbin's absence from Monday's team workout signaled that he likely wouldn't be available for the start of the season, but that wasn't confirmed until the release of the official 26-man roster. Though Corbin isn't known to have tested positive for the virus, he'll remain in quarantine while the Nationals wait for him to clear the protocols. According to Jon Heyman of MLB Network, players that tested positive will be eligible to return after 10 days in quarantine, while those ruled out through contact tracing can return after a week. With Corbin and Jon Lester both on the IL to begin the season, Erick Fedde and Austin Voth could temporarily slot into the Washington rotation as replacements.

Corbin threw 57 pitches over four scoreless innings of relief in Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The left-hander also got some extra work in the bullpen before entering the game and allowing only two Cards to even reach base against him. Corbin appears on track to start the third game of the season, April 4 against the Mets, but the Nats should officially announce their rotation plans sometime this week.

Corbin reached 70 pitches in Wednesday's Grapefruit League start against the Marlins, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The results weren't pretty (four runs and eight baserunners over 3.2 innings), but Corbin was facing Miami for the third time in 10 days, and familiarity may have been a factor in addition to all the usual spring caveats. The veteran southpaw is on pace to be fully stretched out for Opening Day as he looks to rebound from a rough 2020.

Corbin's fastball velocity this spring is up over three mph compared to his final Grapefruit League start of 2020, Maria Torres of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's a very encouraging sign for the veteran left-hander after he struggled last season to a 4.66 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and mediocre 20.3 strikeout rate, more than 10 points below the mark he posted in 2018. Corbin has also been learning a cutter from Max Scherzer and is trying to grow more comfortable with his changeup in an effort to broaden his repertoire, but the key pitch for the southpaw remains his slider, which generated a 51.4 percent whiff rate in 2019 but tumbled to 38.1 percent last year. Corbin's ability to bounce back will be a big factor in determining whether the Nats can take a run at the NL East title.

Corbin threw 20 of 33 pitches for strikes in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Marlins while mixing in his changeup and a cutter he's developing, Pete Kerzel of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran southpaw rarely used his changeup last season, throwing it only 5.6 percent of the time, but the Nats would like to see the pitch become a regular part of his arsenal. "We definitely want him to try to use it and get comfortable throwing it," manager Dave Martinez said Saturday. "It is a good pitch for him. Obviously, we've run the numbers and he doesn't throw it enough. So hopefully, once he gets comfortable, he'll start throwing it." Corbin saw his fastball velocity drop last season and he generated fewer whiffs with his slider, leading to his worst statistical season since 2016, so while adding a new pitch or two could help, it's the effectiveness of his staples that will determine how he performs in 2021.

Corbin will make his first appearance of the spring Saturday against the Marlins, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Nationals have brought along their veteran starting pitchers slowly to begin camp, but Corbin is now ready to go. The southpaw is coming off a disappointing 2020 campaign that saw his ERA, velocity and strikeout rates all regress, but he's still expected to open the season as the team's No. 3 starter.

Corbin (2-7) allowed three runs on 10 hits and three walks while striking out three over seven innings in a loss to the Mets on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
There was a lot of traffic on the bases, and while Corbin was able to work around that traffic early, the Mets ultimately cashed in for three runs against the lefty in the fifth and sixth innings. Corbin ends his disappointing 2020 campaign with a 4.66 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 60:18 K:BB in 65.2 frames. He saw a big velocity dip across the board, and that's especially concerning for a 31-year-old with a history of elbow trouble.
