Corbin allowed one earned run on two hits and no walks while striking out eight across 6.1 innings Sunday against the Yankees. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Corbin retired the first 11 batters he faced -- five via strikeout -- before allowing an infield hit. The only damage against him came in the seventh inning, when Gleyber Torres took him yard. Corbin worked very efficiently, requiring only 75 pitches to retire 19 batters. He'll look to carry this performance into his next start, currently projected for Friday at Miami.

Corbin's goal is to build up to six innings or 100 pitches by Opening Day, Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reports. "I feel pretty positive that I'll be able to get there," he said.
EDGE Analysis
He threw 43 pitches Saturday and will throw again Monday. In a season in which many pitchers will likely be on pitch counts in their first starts, Corbin would theoretically be as stretched out as just about anyone for his first turn in the rotation. He is expected to start July 26 at home against the Yankees.

Corbin threw a bullpen session Friday, Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Nats' top three starters (Corbin, Max Scherzer and Stephen Strasburg) all got in work Friday as the club tries to quickly ramp up before Opening Day later this month. There was no indication of how many pitches Corbin was able to throw, however, so while GM Mike Rizzo described him as being in "full bullpen mode," how close he is to being ready for the regular season is still unclear.

Corbin got the start in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals, allowing one run on one hit and two walks over two innings with one strikeout, Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Nats have taken it very easy with most of their key arms to begin the spring, and Corbin was the last of the established starters to make his debut. Expect the southpaw to remain on a regular schedule from here on out, with plenty of time for him to get stretched out before Opening Day.

Corbin will start Game 4 of the World Series against the Astros on Saturday, Jamal Collier of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Corbin was initially scheduled to start Game 3 of the World Series but was deemed not ready after entering in relief during Game 1 on Tuesday. However, the 30-year-old wasn't needed in the team's 12-3 victory Wednesday, making him available for Saturday's game. The southpaw has recorded a 6.91 ERA with 28 strikeouts in 14.1 innings pitched over the postseason.

Corbin will not start in Game 3 of the World Series against the Astros on Friday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Dave Martinez announced that Anibal Sanchez would start the third game of the series after Corbin threw 21 pitches in relief during Game 1. After playing catch Wednesday, Martinez said the team will see how Corbin feels, with the possibility of pitching in relief again Wednesday during Game 2, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports. The 30-year-old could start in Game 4, but Martinez was noncommittal about the starter for Saturday's game and expressed confidence in how Corbin has performed out of the bullpen.

Corbin could still start Game 3 of the World Series against the Astros on Friday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Corbin was initially named the starter for Game 3, his status became uncertain after throwing 21 pitches over one inning of relief work Tuesday during Game 1. However, the 30-year-old was playing catch Wednesday prior to Game 2 and is likely still in play to start Friday's game at Nationals Park. The southpaw allowed one hit while recording two strikeouts in his one inning pitched Tuesday.

Corbin (1-0) gave up four earned runs on four hits and three walks with 12 strikeouts over five innings in Tuesday's 7-4 win over St. Louis in Game 4 of the NLCS.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty was simply dominant through the first four innings, recording 10 of the first 12 outs via strikeout and giving up just a Yadier Molina solo homer in the fourth. Corbin finally ran into trouble in the fifth and gave up three more runs before fanning Paul Goldschmidt and Marcell Ozuna to end the inning and turn things over to the bullpen. The Cardinals will face either the Yankees or Astros in the World Series, where Corbin will presumably start Game 3.

Corbin will start Game 4 of the NLCS against the Cardinals on Tuesday, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 30-year-old pitched Game 1 of the NLDS against the Dodgers, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits and five walks while recording nine strikeouts over six innings pitched. Corbin recorded a 14-7 record with a 3.25 ERA over the regular season. The southpaw's availability could be limited later in the series if necessary, especially with Max Scherzer pitching Game 2 and Stephen Strasburg starting Game 3, which would give them more rest.

Corbin was charged with two runs (one earned) on three hits over six innings in a loss to the Dodgers in Game 1 of the NLDS on Thursday. He struck out nine and walked five.
EDGE Analysis
The left-hander was wild early, walking four of the first six batters he faced, including Max Muncy with the bases loaded. He eventually settled in, but Washington's bats couldn't get anything going against Walker Buehler and company on the other side, so Corbin was saddled with the loss. This may be the last we see of Corbin in 2019, unless the Nationals are able to force a Game 5.
