Mikolas experienced shoulder discomfort last time he played catch, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Mikolas has dealt with a shoulder issue for a couple weeks, and with him still feeling soreness, it seems there is a good chance he could be shut down for the rest of the season.

Mikolas (shoulder) remains at least a week away from returning to the mound, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Mikolas is running out of time to make another start before the end of the year, though he hasn't been shut down yet.

Mikolas received a cortisone injection in his shoulder Thursday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Mikolas will likely rest a few days while waiting to see how his body responds to the injection. If all goes well, look for the right-hander to attempt to throw a bullpen session in the near future.

Mikolas (shoulder) will not make his scheduled start Thursday and will likely miss at least one more start after that, according to manager Ron Washington, the Associated Press reports.
He was scratched last weekend and now Thursday with shoulder fatigue, and now it sounds like he'll miss three starts resting his shoulder. It's not clear who will take Mikolas' spot in the Rangers' rotation, but they have already scraped the bottom of the barrel at this point, so it's unlikely to be an appealing fantasy option.

Mikolas has been scratched from his scheduled start Saturday due to right shoulder fatigue, Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas reports.
Robbie Ross will step into the rotation Saturday, while Mikolas' status beyond the weekend is unclear. It's hardly surprising that the converted reliever is showing signs of fatigue in the final weeks of the season, however.

Mikolas shut out the Mariners for eight innings Monday en route to his second victory of the season.
Mikolas has settled down a little bit this month, aside from a 10 run debacle August 13, allowing only six runs in his other four starts. Still, the right-hander sports a gaudy 6.44 ERA and 1.43 WHIP overall. Mikolas will toe the rubber Saturday in Houston.

Mikolas gave up three runs on eight hits over three innings Wednesday against the Marlins. He struck out six batters and didn't factor into the decision in the 4-3 extra-inning loss.
This wasn't a bad start if compared to Mikolas' 10-run debacle against the Rays his last time out, but there's still little to get excited about here. With a 7.48 ERA and a 6.0 K/9 IP rate over 49.1 innings this season, Mikolas isn't exactly making a strong case to be a member of the Rangers' 2015 rotation.

Mikolas was shelled by the Rangers on Wednesday, coughing up 10 runs on nine hits, including three home runs in a 10-1 loss.
Mikolas had shown signs of turning around a horrible season with two solid starts in a row before this stinker. On the year, the right-hander is 1-5 with a 7.71 ERA and 1.56 WHIP. Look elsewhere for quality innings. Mikolas faces the marlins on Tuesday.

Mikolas took a no-decision on Friday against the Astros as he gave up one run on four hits in five innings, while walking three and striking out four batters.
It took Mikolas (6.57 ERA) a total of 105 pitches to get through five innings, but he pitched fairly well and should've walked away with a win if not for Neal Cotts' eighth inning meltdown. Mikolas has now had solid results in three of his last four starts and will next take the mound on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Mike Mikolas was hammered in a losing effort against the Athletics on Sunday, surrendering seven runs on seven hits over his 4 2/3 innings.
Mikolas also issued four free passes while walking one. The A's jumped on him with a five-run outburst in the second inning then chased him after adding on another pair in the fifth. He now owns a horrifying 8.54 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 16/9 K/BB ratio over 26 1/3 innings on the year. If he continues to struggle, he may not sustain his spot in the Rangers rotation.
