Conforto continues to excel at Triple-A Las Vegas since his demotion but still is unlikely to rejoin the Mets until the rosters expand September 1.
EDGE Analysis
Since his demotion to Triple-A, Conforto is batting .550/.581/.950, with four homers and four doubles in 43 plate appearances. He has almost equally split his playing time between left and center field for the 51s. While it is a small sample size, Conforto likely needed to hit the ground running due to his struggles in the majors leading to his demotion. It remains to be seen how manager Terry Collins will deploy Conforto when he rejoins the parent club.

Conforto, who has raked since his demotion to Triple-A Las Vegas, likely won't be promoted before the rosters expand September 1, ESPN New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
With his double in the first inning Thursday, Conforto is now 14-for-20 with two homers and six runs batted in over five-plus games. When Conforto does return, his playing time most probably will come in center field with Yoenis Cespedes in left and Jay Bruce in right.

Conforto was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Over the last 14 games, Conforto has gone a mere 5-for-33 (.152) with 11 strikeouts, bringing his batting average down to just .218 for the season. During his time with Las Vegas this season, Conforto has posted a .344/.420/.623 line over 16 games. In a corresponding move, the Mets opted to recall Seth Lugo.

Conforto is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
With southpaw Robbie Ray on the hill for the Diamondbacks, it's not surprising to see Conforto riding the pine. Ty Kelly, of all people, will get the start in left field and hit second Wednesday.

Conforto is in the lineup Sunday against Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
Conforto sat Saturday for the second straight game but gets back in the lineup to face a righty Sunday. He has struggled since the break - going 8-for-37 - which has landed on the bench more frequently lately. Conforto will be in left field, batting sixth.

Conforto is out of the lineup for Saturday's contest with Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
This marks the second consecutive game Conforto will be held out of the starting lineup as Ty Kelly take his spot in left and bats second. Conforto has gone 8-for-37 (.216) since the All-Star break but due to five walks he picked up, he has a .326 OBP during that time.

Conforto is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
He will find himself on the bench against right-hander Justin Verlander, even with the DH available in an American League park. Conforto finished July on an 0-for-13 slide and is 3-for-13 to begin August, so while he figures to continue seeing semi-regular starts with Yoenis Cespedes (quad) on the DL, Brandon Nimmo may eat further into Conforto's at-bats.

Juan Lagares' thumb injury could result in Conforto seeing consistent playing time in center field.
EDGE Analysis
Lagares likely will require surgery to repair the torn ligament in his thumb. To replace him on the active roster, Brandon Nimmo was allied up Thursday night. But he, like Conforto, is a lefty and not a true center fielder, as he is better served at a corner spot. With Yoenis Cespedes playing through a balky quad, limiting him to left field, the Mets have precious few options on center field. Conforto has been moved to that position but has been sitting against southpaws for Lagares. With Conforto, Nimmo and Curtis Granderson all lefties, Conforto might be the primary beneficiary of Lagares' absence, but there is a good chance manager Terry Collins turns to the recently hot Alejandro De Aza.

Conforto is out of the lineup Thursday against the Rockies, ESPN's Adam Rubin reports.
EDGE Analysis
The deployment of Conforto this season has been maddening for his fantasy owners, as he was initially given little opportunity to face lefties (despite mashing against them in the minors), then he was optioned to Triple-A and now he is seeing part-time duty in center field because Yoenis Cespedes' quad issues limit his mobility out there so he has been shifted to left field. Conforto is a natural corner outfielder, so he, like Cespedes, is out of his element in center field, which is why the Juan Lagares has been getting about half the starts in center since the Mets shifted their outfield deployment. Conforto would be appealing in all formats if he were allowed to play every day, but that won't happen anytime soon on this current Mets roster.

Conforto is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Conforto went 0-for-3 in Game 1 but is still batting .357 (5-for-14) since his return from Triple-A Las Vegas. He appears fairly well locked in as the primary center fielder and No. 7 hitter against right-handed pitching, but Conforto figures to sit against all lefties moving forward. His struggles against southpaws this season are well documented (4-for-44).
