He'll look to heat back up Saturday when he faces Wily Peralta, a pitcher he's gone 2-for-3 with a home run against in his career.

Since the Mets' May 20-22 series with Milwaukee in which Conforto collected four hits, including two homers, he'd gone dead silent with the bat, hitting just .103 (4-for-39, 16 strikeouts) without a long ball in 11 games while spending another four on the bench. That's far short of what we expect from Conforto, who impressed last season with his maturity, contact ability and power. In fact, he impressed this April as well before his stats went into the tank over the last month-plus. It seems likely that he'll turn things around, making this an intriguing buy-low moment for those interested in owning the 23-year-old outfielder.

Conforto went 0-for-6, including four strikeouts, Wednesday and is just 1-for-his-last-22 at the plate.

EDGE Analysis

Conforto's struggles stretch back to May 1 when he faced Madison Bumgarner and went 0-for-5 against the southpaw. From that date through June 1, he is just 14-for-89 at the plate, including 30 strikeouts. Conforto will snap out of this slump eventually, but for now, the prudent move might be to bench him until he shows signs of life at the plate.

Conforto is out of the lineup for a second straight Monday against the White Sox.
