Wisler was charged with one unearned run on four hits and two walks over 6.2 innings in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Thursday. He struck out six batters.
EDGE Analysis
Unfortunately for Wisler, the opposing pitcher was Clayton Kershaw, who tossed eight innings of one-run ball. An RBI double from Yasmani Grandal decided the game in the 10th. Wisler was needed in relief Sunday with that game going into extras, resulting in his scheduled start being pushed back, but Wisler is fully expected to remain a regular part of the rotation moving forward. The results will likely continue to be mixed for Wisler over the rest of the season, though, and he faces two tough matchups next week in the Red Sox and Cubs.

Wisler earned the save during Sunday's extra-inning victory at Miami. As a result, his next start will be pushed back to Wednesday or Thursday, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
EDGE Analysis
Slated to take his regular turn in the rotation Tuesday against the Dodgers, Wisler was instead called upon in relief Sunday after Jason Grilli blew his second game of the season. Wisler will still take the mound versus the Dodgers, against whom he allowed four runs on eight hits and no walks while striking out two in a win last July 20.

Wisler allowed three runs on four hits, including two home runs, over six innings in the loss to Washington on Wednesday. He also struck out four and walked one.
EDGE Analysis
Despite the quality start, the Braves fell to 0-8 on the season. Home runs have been Wisler's biggest problem throughout his career and were once again an issue Wednesday. He has tossed up three long balls in 12.2 innings this season. Last year, Wisler allowed 16 bombs over just 109 frames.

Wisler has given up three runs on six hits and three walks while striking out six in 8.2 innings so far this spring. He was happy with how he threw his changeup in his last outing, MLB.com reports. "To be honest, this is the best [the changeup] has felt probably ever for me," Wisler said Friday. "I just think the consistency of it -- I'd have it in certain games, but I didn't trust it. I didn't throw it that much, and I'd try to manipulate it. Now, my thought process is just, 'Keep it down in the zone.'"
EDGE Analysis
Unhappy with the consistency of his changeup last season, Wisler worked with Hall of Famer Tom Glavine over the winter to refine the offering. Wisler seems to be regaining confidence in the pitch, with manager Fredi Gonzalez saying "he's got a little different look in his eyes." An improved changeup would likely help Wisler against lefty batters, who did a number on the 23-year-old last year (.986 OPS).

Wisler reached out to Hall of Famer Tom Glavine late last season in hopes of improving his changeup, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. "There's a lot about him that I like in terms of his mechanics and his foundation and things of that nature," Glavine said. "Having watched him, an off-speed pitch, particularly a change-up to a left-handed hitter, I think, would be really helpful for him. And I know it's something he felt the same way about it."
EDGE Analysis
Glavine watched Wisler throw during the winter, and seemed to be impressed by the young right-hander's willingness to learn and ask questions. "You don't get that a lot with young guys," Glavine said. "I know I wasn't like that when I was a younger player, but I had the benefit of being around a lot of veteran players when I got here." Wisler should begin the year as a member of the Braves' rebuilding rotation, but he will need to refine his changeup as part of a better approach against left-handed hitters to have success in 2016. In his rookie campaign, lefties hit Wisler at a blistering .320/.416/.569 clip, while he handled righties very capably (.233/.274/.390).

Wisler (7-8) surrendered five hits, an earned run and two walks over seven innings in Tuesday's 2-1 victory over the Nationals. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Wisler recorded his third consecutive quality start and has now logged back-to-back seven-inning outings. He has posted an impressive 1.93 ERA over that two-game stretch. Wisler did surrender a gopher ball for the fourth straight appearance but was otherwise sharp Tuesday, throwing 65 of 99 pitches for strikes. The 23-year-old settled down after a disastrous outing to begin September against this same Nationals squad, and lowered his ERA from 5.97 to 5.11 over his next five trips to the mound during the course of the month. Wisler figures to make his final start in the closing game of 2015 against the Cardinals on Sunday.

Wisler struck out a career-high eight Tuesday against the Mets while improving to 6-8 on the year. He gave up two runs on five hits and one walk over seven innings.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie right-hander put an end to a nine-start winless drought Tuesday as he looks to finish the season strong. The Mets going 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position was a big reason for his success Tuesday. Despite his 5.40 ERA, Wisler's stuff and his pedigree make him a borderline lock for a spot in the starting rotation out of camp next year. He will make his next start Tuesday against the Nationals before pitching the final game of the year at home against the Cardinals.

Wisler (5-8) gave up four runs on nine hits and a pair of walks in a loss to the Jays on Thursday. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie served up a pair of homers, which hasn't generally been his M.O., but he again posted an ugly K:BB, which certainly has been the way of things for him this year. He still hasn't won a game since July 26, but he's given up four-plus runs five times and accumulated seven losses in that span. He'll next get a rematch with the Mets, against whom he turned in practically his only good start in the past two months last Friday.

Wisler (5-7) took the loss against the Mets on Friday, conceding two runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out six over six innings.
EDGE Analysis
How rough has this rookie campaign been on Wisler? Friday was just his fifth quality start in 15 opportunities. Still, with Manny Banuelos shut down for the remainder of the season, Wisler will get the opportunity to remain in the rotation and build off of Friday's solid start.

Wisler will start for the Braves on Friday against the Mets, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wisler will take the place of Manny Banuelos, who is likely shut down for the season due to elbow issues. It's unclear if he'll remain in the rotation the rest of the way, but he'll get an opportunity to make a good impression Friday. While he has started for the Braves, Wisler's last appearance came out of the bullpen, so it's possible his pitch count will be limited a bit.
