Wisler was torched in his fourth straight loss, surrendering seven runs in 1.2 innings before getting pulled in Thursday's blowout loss against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Wisler looked like a steal for the Braves in the Craig Kimbrel trade when he started his career with a 5-1 record and 3.43 ERA, but this is the third time he has now allowed seven runs since the beginning of August. He's probably not in danger of losing his rotation spot in 2015, but he might have a tougher time in 2016 if his struggles don't end soon.

Wisler came out of his first appearance in Coors Field with a quality start, allowing two runs on six hits and three walks over six innings Saturday, striking out seven. A first inning mistake to Carlos Gonzalez resulted in a two-run home run, but Wisler settled down nicely after that to come away with a no-decision. The rookie now has a 3.10 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 21:9 K:BB ratio in 29 innings through his first five big league starts.

Wisler earned his third win of the season Monday, holding the Brewers to three runs in 5.2 innings. Wisler struck out six and walked just one after handing out five free passes in his previous start. The rookie hurler has been striking out batters at a higher clip of late, and owns a nifty 3.13 ERA through his first four starts. His final start of the first half will come this weekend against the Rockies.

Wisler (2-1) gave up only one hit in 5.1 scoreless innings in Wednesday's win over the Nationals. He walked five and struck out six. Wisler made up for the loss to Washington in his last start by winning his rematch against Nationals' right-hander Doug Fister. The 22-year-old rookie won his second game of his career, and he'll go for number three in his next start Monday at Milwaukee.

Wisler (1-1) allowed six runs -- four earned -- and nine hits in four innings in Thursday's loss to the Nationals. Winsler, who won his major league debut last week against the New York Mets, couldn't match his previous performance and lasted only four innings Thursday. The 22-year-old will look to bounce back from the worst outing of his career when he faces off against Washington again in his next scheduled start Wednesday.

Wisler, made his major league debut a success, allowing one run on six hits, he did not walk a batter, and struck out two over eight innings of a 2-1 win over the Mets on Friday night. Wisler (1-0, 1.13 ERA) needed just 88 pitches (63 for strikes) to record eight innings. He typically pitches to contact, with a low strikeout rate, and very good command, so this is probably the type of performance fantasy owners will hope to see more of. This outing should certainly go a long way towards locking down this spot in the rotation.

Wisler was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday. Wisler will make his big-league debut Friday against the Mets, replacing Mike Foltynewicz in the rotation. The 22-year-old is arguably the top pitching prospect in the Atlanta organization, and he should have an opportunity to stick around in the rotation. Wisler owns a modest 4.29 ERA and 6.8 K/9 for Triple-A Gwinnett this season, but he also has a 1.8 BB/9, continuing his trend of excellent control throughout the minors.

Wisler will make his major league debut Friday against the Mets. Atlanta had left Friday's scheduled starter as TBA, but the team made it official after Thursday's game that Wisler will indeed get the nod against the Mets in the series opener. Wisler was dealt to the Braves right before Opening Day in a move that sent Craig Kimbrel and Melvin Upton Jr. to the Padres. In 12 starts at Triple-A Gwinnett this season, Wisler carried a 4.29 ERA with 49 strikeouts across 65 innings. The Braves optioned Sugar Ray Marimon to Triple-A Gwinnett to clear space on the roster for Wisler.

The Braves are expected to call up Wisler to make his major league debut Friday against the Mets, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Friday's starter for Atlanta is still listed as "TBA," but the expectation is that manager Fredi Gonzalez will officially tab Wisler for the start after Thursday's game. The 22-year-old Wisler struggled in his last outing with Triple-A Gwinnett (seven runs in 3.2 innings), but he was outstanding in May and has been good with his control throughout the season (1.8 BB/9). It seems likely Wisler will be given a chance to hold down the rotation spot recently vacated by Mike Foltynewicz, who was optioned down after posting a 5.19 ERA in nine starts.

Wisler is an option to start Friday against the Mets, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Mike Foltynewicz was sent down, and while manager Fredi Gonzalez said the team hasn't decided who will take his turn in the rotation Friday, the 22-year-old Wisler is an obvious candidate given that he's scheduled to start that day for Triple-A Gwinnett. The centerpiece of the return package for Craig Kimbrel, Wisler gave up seven runs over 3.2 innings against Indianapolis in his last start, but he had a 1.78 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 26:6 K:BB in six May outings (35.1 innings). He hasn't issued more than two walks in any of his 12 starts for Gwinnett this season.
