Matt Holliday left Saturday's game versus the Dodgers for precautionary reasons. Holliday collided with Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez at second base in the first inning and was slow to get back to his feet, but he remained in the game for another four frames and passed a concussion test after being pulled. He was 1-for-2 with two RBI and a run scored before departing in the bottom of the fifth. Peter Bourjos replaced him.

Matt Holliday hit a go-ahead solo homer in the ninth inning to lead the Cardinals to a 7-6 victory over the Brewers on Friday. It finished off a huge night for Holliday, who reached base in four out of his five plate appearances. He also had a single, two doubles, and a walk. The home run was his first since June 16 and just his sixth on the season. The 34-year-old is currently on pace to hit fewer than 20 home runs for the first time since 2005.

Matt Holliday left Saturday's game against the Marlins with a bruised knee. Cardinals manager Mike Matheny mentioned after the game that the bruising was only minor. There shouldn't be anything to worry about in this case. Holliday has a batting line of .266/.374/.381 with 40 RBI on the season.

Matt Holliday went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's win over the Rockies. Since moving to the No. 2 spot in the lineup, Holliday is 7-for-18 (.389) with three doubles, two RBI and three runs scored. He also drew a walk in Wednesday's game, something he's done with frequency this year. It's helped make up for some of his lack of power, and the outfielder is batting .273/.379/.399 overall on the year.

Cardinals manager Mike Matheny indicated on MLB Network Radio on Sirius XM on Tuesday that Matt Holliday could remain in the No. 2 spot in the order. Holliday has batted second in each of the last two games. He's still getting on base at a high clip, but not hitting for as much power as in the past, so it's worthwhile experiment for St. Louis.

Matt Holliday is batting second for the Cardinals Sunday. It's the first time since 2010 that he's hit in the No. 2 hole. Holliday has been getting on base (.376 on-base percentage) but not hitting for power (.388 slugging percentage), so it's a move that makes sense. Matt Adams has moved up to the No. 3 spot, while Allen Craig is hitting cleanup.

Matt Holliday went 1-for-2 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in a win over the Nationals on Sunday. Holliday also walked and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. The homer, a solo shot, was his fifth of the year and second in his last five games as he slowly begins to find his power stroke. He's currently hitting a pedestrian .260/.376/.382 through 67 games.

Matt Holliday hit a solo home run in the sixth inning, the only run of the game in the Cardinals' 1-0 win over the Rays on Tuesday. The homer, his fourth of the season, was his only hit on in three at-bats. The left fielder also walked on the evening. Incredibly, the home run was just his second since April 28. What he's lacked in power he's made up for in on-base percentage, as Holliday is now hitting .265/.380/.380 on the year.

Matt Holliday (back) is in the Cardinals' starting lineup on Tuesday night against the Rays. Holliday was a late scratch from Sunday's series finale in Toronto because of tightness in his lower back. He'll serve as the Cardinals' DH on Tuesday in Tampa Bay.
