Holliday hit his 17th homer of the season Wednesday while batting cleanup for the Cardinals in Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
While hitting just .245, Holliday's power continues to play well in the middle of the Cardinals lineup. Although the .245 batting average would be the worst of Holliday's career, he's on pace to top 30 home runs for what would be the first time since 2007 when he played in Colorado. He's also on pace to top 100 RBI for the first time since 2012. The Cardinals are second in the NL in on-base percentage, so Holliday should continue to see plenty of opportunities to use his power to drive in runs in his age-36 season.
