Matt Harrison picked up his 11th victory of the season on Friday, limiting the A's to two runs on eight hits over eight innings.
He fanned seven and walked one in the game. He allowed single runs in the fourth and fifth innings, then settled in nicely to shut down the A's offense and allow the Rangers a chance to come back. Harrison has been tremendous thus far, sitting at 11-3 with a 3.16 ERA. He'll look to continue his string of impressive outings when he takes on the White Sox in Chicago on Thursday.

Matt Harrison (back tightness) said he will make his next start.
Rangers manager Ron Washington removed Harrison from Sunday's start after five innings for precautionary reasons. "I saw the doc (Rangers team physician Keith Meister) and he said it was just a very mild stiffness in the lower back so he said see how it feels tomorrow," Harrison said. "But I feel confident that I'll be good to go." Harrison picked up the win Sunday -- his sixth consecutive victory -- after tossing five shutout frames against the Rockies, improving to 10-3 with a 3.24.

After being examined by a trainer, the Rangers have announced that Matt Harrison left his start Sunday with lower back tightness on his left side.
With Neftali Feliz, Alexi Ogando, Derek Holland and Koji Uehara on the disabled list, the last thing Texas needs is another injured hurler. Harrison entered Sunday's contest having gone 5-0 with a 1.43 ERA over his last six starts. He continued the success by shutting out the Rockies for five innings prior to leaving the game.

Matt Harrison left Sunday's start after five innings due to soreness in his left hip.
Replaced by Robbie Ross, Harrison is currently being evaluated. Harrison was having a very strong start, shutting out the Rockies over five innings while striking out three. He scattered five hits and walked a pair. If he's only dealing with mild hip soreness, Harrison isn't likely to miss a start.

Matt Harrison pitched six innings and allowed one run in a win over the Padres on Monday.
Harrison allowed a run for the first time in three starts, but he did string together his sixth straight quality start and fifth straight win. What's really impressive is that the Rangers have won each of his last six starts, even though they've scored a total of 22 runs in those games. They've averaged 7.3 runs in their other 35 wins.

Matt Harrison scattered just six hits in 7 1/3 innings of work Wednesday, but got stuck with a no-decision in Texas' 1-0 win over Arizona at home.
He struck out three and walked two. An impressive night for a hurler who entered the proceedings with a 4.45 home ERA. The quality start was Harrison's fifth straight. Through 86 1/3 innings, he's posted a 3.54 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 51/20 K/BB ratio. He'll get the Padres in San Diego on Monday.

Matt Harrison notched his third career shutout Friday, throwing a five-hitter in the Rangers' 5-0 win over the Giants.
Harrison is 22-12 with a 3.54 ERA since the beginning of the 2011 season, but he hadn't had a complete game, much less a shutout, since 2009. Harrison opened the year with a 5.21 ERA after eight starts, but he's now won four in a row, allowing just six runs in the process. As a result, he's 8-3 with a 3.87 ERA.

Matt Harrison held the Angels to three runs on four hits and three walks in 6 2/3 innings of Sunday's 7-3 win.
Harrison struck out three as he improved to 7-3. His biggest mistake came in the sixth, where he served up a solo home run to John Hester. Quality in each of his past three starts, Harrison will bring a 4.37 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 44/18 K/BB ratio into his Friday start in San Francisco.

Matt Harrison had little trouble with the Mariners Monday, holding them to two runs on seven hits while striking out five over eight innings in a 4-2 win.
He was under 100 pitches, but manager Ron Washington elected to use Joe Nathan to close it out rather than letting Harrison go the distance. Harrison had a couple hiccups at the end of April and beginning of May, but he's since settled down, lowering his ERA from 5.40 to 4.41 over his last five starts. He'll go up against the Angels this weekend.
