Matt Harrison (toe) is scheduled to pitch two innings Tuesday in a B-game.
Harrison was scratched from his scheduled start on Saturday due to inflammation in a toe on his left foot, but he made it through a bullpen session Sunday without any issues. Assuming no setbacks, he should have enough time to get ready for the season. The 27-year-old southpaw is considered the favorite to start Opening Day against the Astros.

Matt Harrison (toe) threw a bullpen session Sunday without any issues.
Harrison was scratched from his Cactus League start Saturday with an inflamed second toe in his left foot. The Rangers aren't calling it a setback, but Harrison will need to be cleared by a specialist before returning to games. We should know more on his status early next week.

Matt Harrison is going to see a specialist for the inflamed second toe in his left foot.
The toe caused him to be scratched from his scheduled start Saturday. Still, Rangers assistant general manager Thad Levine said the situation isn't viewed as a setback. Harrison is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Sunday before seeing the specialist on Monday. More should be known about his situation then, but for the time being, the issue doesn't seem to be too serious.

Matt Harrison tossed three scoreless innings Saturday in the Rangers' 7-1 defeat of the Diamondbacks.
That's more like it. Harrison was hammered for four runs on six hits in his Cactus League debut, but he looked much sharper on Saturday. The 27-year-old left-hander remains a decent mid-rotation fantasy starter.

Matt Harrison gave up four runs on six hits in one inning of work in Sunday's game against the Royals.
Harrison needed 40 pitches to get through the first inning and clearly didn't have his best stuff. However, there's no real cause for concern with Opening Day more than a month away. Harrison is coming off back-to-back strong seasons, having posted a 3.34 ERA and 1.27 WHIP while winning 32 games since the start of 2011.

Rangers signed LHP Matt Harrison to a five-year, $55 million contract extension.
The deal also includes an option for the 2018 season. Harrison, 27, was already under team control through 2014, so the new deal will buy out his first three and possibly four years of free agency. The left-hander is coming off back-to-back strong seasons, having posted a 3.34 ERA and 1.27 WHIP while winning 32 games since the start of 2011.

Matt Harrison declined an invitation to pitch for Team USA in the upcoming World Baseball Classic.
Harrison logged a career-high 213 1/3 innings last season, so he doesn't want to push it. "It was truly an honor to be asked to be a part of a team that represents our country, but at the same time I didn't want to risk injury after throwing a career-high in innings," said Harrison.

Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram writes that the Rangers are expected to reopen contract extension talks with Matt Harrison this weekend.
The Rangers had preliminary discussions with Harrison earlier this offseason and could look to avoid arbitration by signing him to a long-term contract. He made $2.95 million last season and is under team control through 2014. Neftali Feliz and David Murphy are also arbitration-eligible, but are not currently being considered for contract extensions.
