The Rangers and LHP Matt Harrison avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $2.95 million contract. Harrison requested $3.5 million and was offered $2.45 million by the Rangers earlier today, but it didn't take much time for the two sides to settle their differences. The 26-year-old southpaw went 14-9 with a 3.39 ERA and 126/57 K/BB ratio over 185 2/3 innings in 2011 and should be useful in most fantasy leagues if he leaves spring training with a rotation spot.

Matt Harrison lasted four shaky innings on Friday, allowing three runs on five hits over four innings in the Rangers Game 7 loss to the Cardinals. Scott Feldman came in to pitch the fifth inning and quickly set down Ryan Theriot before walking Allen Craig and putting runners on first and second with just one out, where he and C.J. Wilson would combine for three walks and two runs in one inning of relief. After going 14-9 in the regular season, Harrison vastly underperformed in the playoffs, with a 16/9 K/BB ratio and 11 earned runs over 18 1/3 innings.

Rangers manager Ron Washington confirmed Monday that Matt Harrison would start a potential Game 7 against the Cardinals. The forecast for Game 6 in St. Louis on Wednesday calls for rain, but Harrison would start a potential Game 7 even if there's a rainout. Derek Holland, who tossed 8 1/3 shutout innings in Game 4, would be available in relief.

Matt Harrison will indeed start Game 3 of the World Series at home against the Cardinals. MLB.com's T.R. Sullivan had the news on Wednesday, and it was confirmed by the Rangers a few hours before Game 2's first pitch Thursday. Harrison, a 26-year-old left-hander, posted a solid 3.39 ERA and 1.28 WHIP during the regular season. He's also been crisp as a starter throughout the playoffs. Derek Holland will start Game 4.

Matt Harrison is likely to start World Series Game 3. And Derek Holland will likely take the mound in Game 4. Rangers manager Ron Washington hasn't made any of this official, but it's the common consensus among reporters.

Rangers manager Ron Washington has penciled in Matt Harrison and Derek Holland to start Games 3 and 4 of the World Series. Washington acknowledged that the order between Harrison and Holland remains "up in the air." In addition, both starters will be available for relief duty in Games 1 and 2, if needed.

Matt Harrison lasted just five innings Wednesday but pitched pretty well, giving up two runs on three hits and three walks in a 7-3 extra innings win over the Tigers in Game 4 of the ALCS. Miguel Cabrera got to Harrison with a two-out, two-RBI double in the third inning, but the Tigers weren't able to muster anything else against the left-hander. Harrison has had trouble going deep into games lately, and this contest was no different, as he required 91 pitches to cover the five frames. Still, he has a nice 3.60 ERA and 1.20 WHIP over 10 2/3 innings this postseason.

Manager Ron Washington confirmed that Matt Harrison will be available out of the bullpen for the first two games of the ALCS. Harrison is scheduled to start Game 4 but could see action out of the bullpen if either Colby Lewis or Derek Holland can't go the distance. Lewis went 0-1 with a 15.95 ERA in two starts against the Tigers in the regular season, allowing 13 runs on 20 hits and four walks. Holland posted an 8-2 record at home with a 1.56 WHIP and .292 opponent batting average.

Matt Harrison struck out nine and allowed two runs over five innings Tuesday in a win over the Rays in Game 4 of the ALDS. The nine strikeouts tied a career-high. He also gave up five hits and walked two, so his pitch-count built rather quickly. Fortunately for the Rangers, the bullpen was up to the task. Derek Holland, Mike Adams, Alexi Ogando followed with three innings of shutout relief while Neftali Feliz survived a shaky ninth inning as the Rangers punched their ticket to the ALCS.

Matt Harrison held the Angels to one run on five hits and one walk in six innings Wednesday, taking a no-decision in Texas' 3-1 win. Harrison will finish 2011 with a 3.39 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 126/57 K/BB ratio compiled over 185 2/3 innings. Harrison is expected to serve as Texas' fourth starter during the postseason, though he could also be called on in long relief.
