Teixeira is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Royals, Jared Diamond of The Wall Street Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Teixeira has gone 0-for-7 with four strikeouts over the past two games to drop his average down to .202 and has yet to receive a day off this season, so he'll head to the bench Tuesday for a regular day of rest. Dustin Ackley will fill in at first base in his stead against Kris Medlen.

Teixeira reached base four times, going 1-for-2 while drawing a trio of walks in Wednesday's win over the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
The Yankees' bats have been in a collective slump over the first month of the season, and Teixeira has been unable to avoid that distinction as he's batting just .224. Maybe even more concerning though, the power-hitting first baseman has just three home runs and hasn't gone deep since April 13. Despite the low average and power, Teixeira does have a .365 OBP, his highest mark since his first season in the Bronx in 2009.

Teixeira his a solo blast in the eighth inning of Wednesday's 7-2 loss to the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
It was the only hit of the game for Tex, but he leads the Yankees with three home runs. The big first baseman is off to a pretty typical start thus far, posting an average of just .240, but showing signs of good power. His 31 homers last season were his most since hitting 39 in 2011, giving hope that his best power days are not yet past him. However, he does already have seven strikeouts in just 25 at-bats.

Teixeira went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and two runs scored in Thursday's win over the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
That's his second homer in as many days, so it looks like Teixeira is again determined to rack up power stats for as long as he can stay on the field. It's hard to see the nearly 36-year-old first baseman maintaining an average much higher than .250, but Teixeira's fantasy owners won't complain as long as he keeps hitting balls out of the yard.

Teixeira went 2-for-4 with his first homer and four RBI in Wednesday's 16-6 thrashing of the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Like many of the Yankees' veterans, he came out of this game early once it was well in hand. After bouncing back with 31 homers in only 111 games last year, Teixeira's reestablished himself as an excellent source of power; at this point, his potential for injury is the only thing standing in his way. Of course, staying healthy has been the greatest challenge for Teixeira, as he hasn't played in more than 123 games since 2011.

Teixeira is 3-for-17 through seven spring training games.
EDGE Analysis
Teixeira's 2015 season was cut short after suffering a fracture in his leg in August, but the ailment appears to be fully behind him as he enters the 2016 season at full health. The first baseman was enjoying one of his best seasons of recent vintage before going down, clubbing 31 homers with a .255 average that was his highest mark in five years. He'll once again man first base for the Yankees, but health has been an issue for the soon-to-be 36-year-old, as he hasn't appeared in 125 games since 2011.

Teixeira will miss the remainder of the season after tests revealed a fracture in his leg, Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Teixeira underwent further tests Friday after he was dealing with more pain than anticipated with the initial diagnosis of a deep bone bruise, and it appears his worst fears were confirmed. The first baseman was enjoying his best season in recent vintage while healthy, as he mashed 31 home runs with 79 RBI in 111 games. The expected recovery time going forward for the 35-year-old is about three months, so if all goes well over the offseason, he should be back in time for the start of spring training. Greg Bird figures to continue to serve as the primary first baseman in his place going forward.

Teixeira (leg) will undergo more tests Friday, the NY Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Teixeira reported that he's still unable to walk without pain after suffering a deep bone bruise nearly a month ago, but the first baseman remained optimistic that he'd be able to rejoin the club before the end of the season. He's slated to go for an MRI on Friday, which could give a clearer indication of a timetable.

Teixeira (leg) had two injections to address nerve issues in his leg, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. Yankees' GM Brian Cashman admitted that he does "wonder" whether Teixeira will be back with the team this season.
EDGE Analysis
Teixeira remains hobbled and was spotted on crutches Tuesday as he continues to recovery from a deep bone bruise in his shin. He's without any semblance of a timetable, and at this point the Yankees are simply hoping he'll be able to return and contribute sometime before the end of the 2015 campaign. Rookie Greg Bird will continue to see the majority of the starts at first base in Teixeira's absence.

Teixeira (shin) was placed on the 15-day DL retroactive to Aug. 27 on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
This is mostly a logistical move, as Teixeira had already been reported to be out for weeks. Since the move is retroactive to Aug. 27, Teixeira will be eligible to return Sept. 11, but he'll probably have to wait significantly longer than that to come back. Greg Bird will continue to see starts at first base with Teixeira out.
