Teixeira (leg) had two injections to address nerve issues in his leg, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. Yankees' GM Brian Cashman admitted that he does "wonder" whether Teixeira will be back with the team this season.

Teixeira remains hobbled and was spotted on crutches Tuesday as he continues to recovery from a deep bone bruise in his shin. He's without any semblance of a timetable, and at this point the Yankees are simply hoping he'll be able to return and contribute sometime before the end of the 2015 campaign. Rookie Greg Bird will continue to see the majority of the starts at first base in Teixeira's absence.
