Teixeira is hoping to play through the pain and get through this season without knee surgery, Peter Botte of the New York Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Teixeira has had a similar surgery to repair torn cartilage in his left knee in 2007, and he knows that having it now would require a 4-to-6 month recovery period. The team doctor that examined him, Dr. Ahmad, said that surgery in the offseason "..is 'probably' inevitable..", however the first baseman determined that he would be able to get through the rest of the season, and even be ready for a rehab assignment within the next three weeks.

Manager Joe Girard said that Teixeira (knee) should be ready to play in a game at some level some time in the next three weeks, Jared Diamond of the Wall Street Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Teixeira left Friday's game due to this knee issue, but it seems that the Yankees are confident that he will be ready to go fairly soon. It's unclear how long the Yankees will spend easing the first baseman back into game action before rejoining the New York full-time lineup, but that should become clearer once he gets closer to that stage of his rehab process.

Teixeira (knee) was placed on the 15-day DL with a right knee articular cartilage tear Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Teixeira left Friday's game against the Orioles after appearing to injure his knee during his first at-bat of the contest. The Yankees replaced him with Rob Refsnyder for the rest of the game, but with Dustin Ackley recently sidelined for the rest of the year with a torn labrum, the Yankees will have to figure out a solution for a first baseman. The team recalled first baseman Chris Parmelee from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, but could either give Refsnyder a shot at the job or place Austin Romine/Brian McCann at the base when they are not behind the plate.

Teixeira left Friday's game with right knee discomfort and he is scheduled to undergo an MRI, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.
EDGE Analysis
Teixeira was replaced by Rob Refsnyder early in Friday's tilt after Teixeira appeared to tweak something in his first at-bat of the evening. The training staff took a look at his knee after he came out of the game, and now it has been confirmed that his knee was indeed the issue. More information on Teixeira's status moving forward figures to be made available late Friday or early Saturday depending on when the results of his MRI are released.

Teixeira exited Friday's game in the third inning with an undisclosed injury, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
According to Marakovits, Teixeira's knee appeared to be bothering him after his first at-bat Friday and he was being tended to by the training staff after being replaced by Rob Refsnyder. With Dustin Ackley and Greg Bird sidelined for the remainder of the season, Teixeira's health is pivotal to the Yankees' depth at first base. Refsnyder, Brian McCann, and Austin Romine are all potential stopgap options at first if Teixeira misses additional time beyond Friday.

Teixeira (neck) is in the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
One day after taking a pinch-hit at-bat in the Yankees' victory over the Rays, Teixeira will return to the starting lineup for the first time since May 24. He will man first base Monday and hit fifth against Blue Jays starter Marco Estrada.

Teixeira (neck) replaced Dustin Ackley on Sunday after Ackley got hurt, going 0-for-1. Teixeira said that throwing is still difficult for him, but expects to play Monday at Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
It's possible that Teixeira could be the DH, but with Ackley possibly headed to the DL, the Yankees are having to be increasingly creative about who they roll out at first base. The DL move for Ackley seems more imperative with Carlos Beltran also banged up.

Teixeira (neck) went through a full on-field workout prior to Sunday's game, Brendan Kuty of the Newark Star-Ledger reports. "I feel pretty good," Teixeira said after the session.
EDGE Analysis
During the workout, Teixeira fielded grounders, ran in the outfield, and hit from both sides of the plate, suggesting he's nearing an end to his battle with back spasms. While Teixeira was ultimately held out of the lineup Sunday against the Rays, marking his fifth straight absence, the first baseman looks to be trending toward a return for Monday's series opener with the Blue Jays.

Teixeira (neck) is out of the lineup Sunday against the Rays, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Teixeira was scheduled to take batting practice Sunday, but he'll still feeling the effects of neck spasms, which will force him out of the lineup for a fifth straight game. The Yankees are still waiting for Teixeira's cortisone shot to run its course, but the 36-year-old could be ready to play in Monday's series opener against the Blue Jays. Dustin Ackley gets the start at first base Sunday.

Teixeira (neck) is slated to take batting practice Sunday, the Westchester Journal News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Neck spasms have held Teixeira out of the lineup for the last three games, but it appears as though he's making some progress after receiving a cortisone shot Thursday. The club has already ruled the first baseman out of Sunday's contest, but if the hitting session goes well, a Monday return remains a possibility.
