Stroman allowed one hit and struck out three through four scoreless innings Friday against Pittsburgh.
EDGE Analysis
Stroman turned in the worst season of his career in 2018, posting a 5.54 ERA with a 77:36 K:BB over 102.1 frames. He's looked razor sharp over his last two spring starts, although it remains to be seen whether he'll be able to maintain this high level of play and carry it into the regular season.

Stroman struck out three over two perfect innings in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
After a bumpy spring debut earlier in the week, Stroman looked sharp in this one. The right-hander is looking to rebound from his worst season in the majors, and the first step will be staying healthy after he made only 19 starts last year. Even if does return to his 2017 form, Stroman's lack of strikeouts does put a damper on his fantasy value in most formats.

Stroman signed a one-year, $7.4 million contract with the Blue Jays on Friday, avoiding arbitration, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stroman had a $6.5 million salary in 2018 after losing his arbitration hearing, so he'll avoid arbitration this time around. The 27-year-old had a rough year battling injuries, and posted a 5.54 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 77:36: K:BB over 102.1 innings, by far the worst performance of his major-league career. The 27-year-old still enters 2019 as the Blue Jays' top starter as he looks for a bounce-back year.

Stroman (finger) will probably not pitch again this season, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stroman was able to make just one short start in early September after missing a pair of starts due to a blister. The blister limited him to just 1.2 innings in his first start back, and with the Blue Jays firmly out of the playoff race, it appears that they'll choose to let him heal for the rest of the season. The 27-year-old will wind up with an ugly 5.54 ERA in a season in which he was limited by multiple injuries to just 19 starts. His underlying numbers give him a 3.91 FIP, however, a near match for the 3.90 FIP he posted last season.

Manager John Gibbons said Wednesday that Stroman (finger) will not take the hill against Cleveland on Sunday, and may not return again this season, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gibbons stated that the club has yet to determine the course of action for Stroman at this point in time, but things aren't looking that positive for the right-hander after re-aggravating a blister on his pitching hand during Monday's outing. Prior to that start, Stroman was on the DL for a few weeks due to a blister issue, so the organization isn't going to put him back in harms way with the Blue Jays out of postseason contention. In his absence, Thomas Pannone will likely toe the rubber Sunday.

Stroman (4-9) allowed four runs on six hits while striking out one over 1.2 innings as he took the loss Monday against Tampa Bay. After the game, manager John Gibbons stated Stroman's blister is "clearly affecting him," Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stroman was lit up in his first game back since landing on the disabled list Aug. 19, and he was yanked after recording just five outs on 49 pitches. A blister on Stroman's throwing hand caused him to miss time on the shelf last month, and it appears the same issue is still bothering him. Although the 27-year-old wants to keep pitching through the injury, Gibbons is advising a cautious approach to the final month of the season, per Nicholson-Smith. If Stroman manages to make his next start, he'd be slated to take the hill Saturday against Cleveland.

Stroman (finger) returned from the disabled list as expected Monday and is starting against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Stroman returns after missing just over two weeks with a blister. The 27-year-old has posted a 5.27 ERA in a disappointing season in which he's made a pair of trips to the DL.

Stroman (finger) will be activated from the 10-day disabled list to start Monday's game against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Expect the Blue Jays to make Stroman's reinstatement official a few hours prior to the 7:07 p.m. EDT opening pitch. Stroman has been on the shelf for a little over two weeks due to a recurrence of a blister on his right middle finger, but he was cleared to rejoin the rotation after completing a bullpen session over the weekend without incident. Prior to hitting the shelf with his latest setback, Stroman was sidelined with shoulder fatigue earlier in the summer, resulting in a six-week absence.

Stroman (finger) threw a bullpen session Saturday and manager John Gibbons indicated there was a good chance he starts Monday against the Rays, Mike Wilner of Sportsnet 590 The Fan reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stroman landed on the disabled list Aug. 19 with the nagging blister issue, and is currently on track to return to the starting rotation Monday. The 27-year-old has been dealing with the blister for much of the season, which could help explain his 5.27 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in what amounts to the worst statistical season of his career.

Stroman (finger) played catch last week, Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stroman was able to play catch last week for the first time since landing on the disabled list with a blister issue Aug. 19. He's expected to continue a throwing program through the rest of the week before being reevaluated. In the meantime, Thomas Pannone figures to stick in the rotation in Stroman's place.
