Severino will make his season debut Friday against the Tigers, Meredith Marakovits of the YES Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Friday start lines up Severino to occupy the fourth spot of the rotation, beating out both CC Sabathia and Ivan Nova. The 22-year-old was terrific after earning a midseason call-up last year, working to a 2.89 ERA with 8.1 K/9, and doesn't figure to be on any sort of innings limit entering his first full season in the big leagues.

Severino is slated to throw 30 pitches or two innings in Wednesday's exhibition matchup against Detroit, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The talented right-hander will get the nod in the Yankees' first exhibition game of the spring Wednesday and will be capped at roughly two innings of work. Severino figures to be gradually stretched out throughout spring training to get ready to handle what manager Joe Girardi hopes will be a 200-inning workload in his first full season with the big league club.

Yankees manager Joe Giradi said he thinks Severino can handle a 200-inning workload, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Even if Girardi believes that to be the case, there's no guarantee the Yankees' front office will be comfortable with such a heavy workload. On the other hand, Severino did toss 161.2 combined innings last season, so he shouldn't have too strict of a limit, if any at all.

Severino surrendered five hits and three earned runs over seven innings in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Orioles. He struck out six but did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
The 21-year-old rookie wraps up 2015 with three consecutive quality outings, during which he has posted an impressive 2.37 ERA. Severino was sharp Saturday, throwing 66 of 91 pitches for strikes, securing first-pitch strikes on 21 of 26 hitters, and inducing 13 swings-and-misses. He didn't help his cause by surrendering homers to Nolan Reimold and the red-hot Manny Machado, bringing his final HR/9 rate for 2015 to 1.30. While Severino definitely needs to curtail his propensity for surrendering round-trippers and handing out free passes, he turned in a considerably strong rookie campaign, and would be in line to start Game 1 of a possible AL Division Series for the Yankees.

EDGE Analysis
The game will get made up as part of a double header Saturday. Per MASN's Roch Kubatko, Severino is slated to start one of the two games, though it's not clear whether it will be the early or late contest.

Severino will start Friday against the Orioles, Wallace Matthews of ESPN NY reports.
EDGE Analysis
Adam Warren was initially slated to get the start, but after giving three innings of relief work Thursday, the Yankees will turn to Severino. The rookie has worked to an impressive 2.77 ERA with 50 strikeouts in 55.1 innings through his first 10 career starts.

Severino (5-3) tossed six shutout innings, allowing five hits and just one walk, en route to picking up the win Sunday against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
It was one of the best outings of Severino's brief career, though he only added two strikeouts, as he registered his seventh quality start since being called up in August. He's quickly turned into one of the Yankees' most reliable starter, and is scheduled to make his final turn through the rotation in the regular season Friday against the Orioles.

Severino surrendered three hits, two earned runs and three walks over six innings against the Blue Jays on Tuesday. He struck out three but did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
It was another encouraging performance for the rookie, who has endured only one truly poor outing in nine major-league starts, against these very same Blue Jays. Severino was much sharper on Tuesday at the hitter-friendly Rogers Centre, getting first-pitch strikes on 17 of the 22 batters that he faced and largely neutralizing the potent Toronto lineup. Severino's biggest challenge this offseason will likely be finding a way to conquer the control problems that have contributed to the substantial 3.85 BB/9 rate he has amassed so far in his young career.

Severino (4-3) held the Rays to one run on six hits and a walk in 5.2 innings Wednesday, striking out seven in a 3-1 win.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie's most recent start -- a six-run disaster against the Jays -- represented his first step back of the year, but he recovered in impressive fashion, displaying stronger control than we'd seen from him over his last several outings. Severino had issued at least three walks in five consecutive starts, and though he'd mostly navigated around those extra baserunners, that luck only holds for so long. With a strikeout per inning and results that have been pretty consistent, the 21-year-old is showing a ton of promise for the future, and he can help fantasy teams right now as well. However, he gets another matchup with the Jays in his next start Tuesday.

Severino was rocked for six runs on six hits, walking three and striking out four while lasting just 2.1 innings in an 11-5 loss to Toronto on Friday night.
EDGE Analysis
Severino (3-3, 3.35 ERA) had pitched very well since arriving in the major leagues, but he struggled to find the strike zone with his secondary pitches in this one, and against an offense like Toronto's, that's a recipe for disaster. Give him a mulligan on tonight's outing and look forward to his next start.
