Severino (arm) is expected to pitch Game 6 of the ALCS against the Astros on Friday if necessary, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Severino was removed from his previous start after being hit on the wrist by a comebacker. While there was some initial concern regarding the injury, Severino said he felt great afterwards and ultimately wasn't sent for additional testing. He's set to play catch prior to Monday's game, and if everything checks out fine, he should be available to pitch Game 6 -- assuming the Yankees are able to extend the series.

Severino (arm) said after Saturday's game, "I feel great. I feel 100 percent great," and noted he could have kept pitching, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It seems like the Yankees just wanted to play it safe with Severino after he was hit by a comebacker. He should still be considered day-to-day for the time being, but apparently feels 100 percent.

Severino was removed from Saturday's start after four innings after being hit on the left wrist by a comebacker, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
A Yulieski Gurriel liner hit Severino on the final play of the fourth inning and manager Joe Girardi ultimately opted to pull the young ace. Tommy Kahnle has entered the game in relief and a further update on Severino figures to be made available later Saturday.

Severino will start Game 2 of the ALCS against the Astros on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Severino will face Justin Verlander in Game 2, with Dallas Keuchel and Masahiro Tanaka toeing the rubber against one another in the opening game of the series. While the 23-year-old struggled in his first career postseason start, he was able to bounce back and earn the win in his next outing -- a seven-inning gem against the Indians in which he struck out nine and allowed three runs on four hits to keep the Yankees' season alive.

Severino will toe the rubber in Tuesday's wild-card game against the Twins, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Yankees' ace will be opposed, unsurprisingly, by the Twins' Ervin Santana. Severino hasn't lost since Aug. 28, a span of five games, and will look to carry over his fantastic 2.98 ERA to the postseason.

Severino (14-6) earned the win after allowing one run on four hits and a walk through six innings Wednesday against the Rays. He struck out nine batters.
EDGE Analysis
Severino was filthy in this one, inducing 18 swinging strikes and tossing 66 of his 91 pitches for strikes. The 23-year-old has now gone eight straight starts without allowing more than three runs, a stretch over which he's compiled an impressive 1.99 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 64:13 K:BB in 49.2 innings. After struggling to a 5.89 ERA last season, Severino has bounced back and established himself as the Yankees' ace -- and one of the better pitchers in baseball -- posting a 2.98 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 230:51 K:BB through 193.1 innings this season. Unless the Red Sox fail to clinch the division by Sunday, it looks like Severino will get the ball for the Yankees' crucial wild-card matchup against the Twins.

Severino (shoulder) will start Tuesday against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
He was struck on his left (non-throwing) shoulder by a batted ball during warmups Saturday, but Severino was never believed to be in any real danger of missing this game. Severino has been excellent against the Rays in two prior starts this season -- as he has against most opponents -- allowing three runs while posting an 18:4 K:BB over 12 innings. This will likely prove to be his final start of the regular season, unless the Red Sox fail to clinch the division by Sunday.

Severino was struck on the back of the left shoulder by a batted ball during pregame warmups Saturday, David Lennon of Newsday reports, but he avoided any sort of serious injury and is being treated with ice.
EDGE Analysis
Severino was examined by team trainers for several minutes Saturday after being hit while playing catch in the outfield, but it seems he is only dealing with a bruise on his non-throwing arm, and not any sort of injury that will be a major concern moving forward. Severino's next start is scheduled for Tuesday against the Rays.

Severino allowed three runs on five hits and one walk while striking out three over three innings in a no-decision against the Twins on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
He wasn't at his best in this one, and manager Joe Girardi ultimately pulled Severino after just 71 pitches. The Yankees had moved Severino up a day for this start -- it was an interesting decision, as the Yankees gave up the chance to keep Minnesota from seeing Severino until a potential wild-card game for the option to start Severino three times before the end of the regular season. The 23-year-old should have an easier go of it early next week against the Rays.

Severino will start Wednesday against the Twins in place of Masahiro Tanaka, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Yankees were originally planning to avoid using Severino against the Twins, presumably to not give them an extra look at him should the teams meet in the AL Wild Card game, but they decided to change course and bump back Tanaka instead. Severino will be pitching on normal rest Wednesday, and he will face a Twins lineup that -- regardless who it includes -- will contain solely players who have never faced him before.
