Gausman didn't factor into the decision Friday versus the Tigers but turned in a quality start, giving up three earned runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
The righty turned in a strong effort despite an elevated pitch count, notching 14 swinging strikes overall. Gausman did consistently fall behind early in the count, recording first-pitch strikes on only 14 of the 27 hitters he faced. The 25-year-old had not given up an earned run prior to Friday since Aug. 18 against the Astros, a stretch that encompassed three starts and a total of 19 innings. Despite a 7-10 record he's sporting a respectable 3.61 ERA, along with 155 whiffs in 152 innings. Gausman will look to get back on the winning track when he takes on the Rays next Thursday.

Gausman (7-10) blanked the Yankees for the second straight outing, allowing just two hits, striking out eight and walking two over six innings in a victory Saturday night.
EDGE Analysis
In his last two starts, Gausman has thrown 13 scoreless innings versus the Yankees. Overall, the right-hander hasn't allowed a run for 19 straight frames, and during that time, he has 19 strikeouts. This streak has dropped Gausman's ERA to 3.58 this season. He also has a 1.28 WHIP and 148 strikeouts in 146.0 innings.

Gausman (6-10) blanked the Yankees for seven innings Sunday, scattering seven hits while striking out nine, to pick up his first road win of the season.
EDGE Analysis
Incredibly Gausman had been 0-16 in his last 25 starts away from Camden Yards, last winning a road start just over two years ago in Cleveland. He's now thrown 13 scoreless frames over his last two outings and has four quality starts in six August trips to the mound, giving him a 2.45 ERA and strong 41:12 K:BB in 36.2 innings on the month. Gausman may finally be developing into the ace he was projected to be when he was coming up through the Orioles' system. He'll try to keep his scoreless streak going Saturday in a rematch back in Baltimore against the Yankees.

Gausman (5-10) pitched six shutout innings in Tuesday's win over the Nationals, allowing just six hits with two walks and two strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman's lackluster strikeout numbers lagged behind his usual 8.86 K/9 rate, but this was otherwise as good a performance as could be reasonably expected after the right-hander had allowed 16 runs in just 26.2 innings over his previous five starts. He'll now carry a two-game winning streak into Saturday's start at Yankee Stadium.

Gausman (4-10) hurled 6.2 innings and gave up five runs (four earned) on seven hits while walking one and striking out eight against the Astros on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman was on a bit of a hot streak entering Thursday's game. In his last three starts, the righty has given up just six runs in 17 innings, although he's only been the victor once. The 25-year-old hasn't had much luck in the win department but owns a solid 4.11 ERA.

Gausman (3-9) allowed two runs on six hits and two walks with six strikeouts over six innings in a loss Monday against the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Despite the loss, Gausman churned out his sixth quality start in his past eight starts. He owns a sharp 56:13 K:BB in 54.1 innings and a 3.54 ERA in this stretch. Don't be fooled by his record -- he has solid peripherals and could become a force if he could figure out how to keep the ball in the park. He allowed another home run Monday, his 21st, giving him a 1.6 HR/9 that has limited him to a 4.02 ERA.

Gausman (3-8) pitched seven innings, allowing two runs, seven hits and one walk while striking out seven Rangers in Wednesday's win.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman has tallied five quality starts in his last seven outings, and earned the win in three of those five. The 25-year-old right-hander has made it to his most successful part of the season. In his three previous MLB seasons, Gausman posted a 4.74 ERA prior to the All-Star break, and a 3.92 mark post Midsummer Classic. Almost all of his career numbers suggest he is about to hit stride as we near the fantasy playoffs. Gausman's next start will come Monday in Oakland.

Gausman (2-8) gave up six earned runs on six hits-- including three homers-- and three walks over three innings in Friday's 6-5 loss to the Blue Jays. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander has pitched significantly better than his record would indicate this season, but Friday was not an example of such. In addition to his problems with the long ball, Gausman also uncorked a pair of wild pitches and threw 79 pitches over just three frames. All three round-trippers came in the first inning, with Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion and Troy Tulowitzki doing the honors. He'll look to rebound from what was his shortest starting stint of the season when he takes on the Rangers next Thursday.

Gausman (2-7) fired seven scoreless innings in Saturday's 5-2 victory over the Indians, giving up only four hits and three walks. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman, who's been a tough-luck loser on more than one occasion this season, assured himself a victory by shutting out a dangerous Indians lineup over seven strong frames. The right-hander threw 74 of 116 pitches for strikes, and induced 15 swinging strikes overall. The 25-year-old has now given up only two earned runs over the 13.2 innings encompassing his last two starts, and has recorded 13 whiffs over that span. He'll look to keep the momentum going against the Twins next Thursday.

Gausman (1-7) took yet another loss on Monday, despite holding the Yankees to two runs in 6.2 innings against the Yankees. He allowed six hits, walked one, and struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman had scuffled a bit in his final start before the All-Star Break, but got right back on track Monday. The 25-year-old continues to be a big-time strikeout artist while limiting his walks, registering 88 strikeouts to just 20 walks for the season. His next start will come on Sunday against the Indians.
