Gausman (5-7) was lit up over three innings in Friday's no-decision against Cubs, allowing eight runs on seven hits (four home runs) and a walk while notching five strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
Just when it seemed like things couldn't get much worse following Gausman's awful pre All-Star effort, he gets pounded right out of the gate to open the second half. He surrendered back-to-back homers in the first inning Friday, and served up another in each of his next two frames. Luckily for him, the O's staged a seven-run comeback to shake the 26-year-old off the hook. Now through 20 starts, Gausman owns a hideous 6.39 ERA, and although his BABIP is high, the right-hander has shown nothing to justify clogging a fantasy roster spot with him.

Although an official rotation hasn't been set, manager Buck Showalter expects Gausman to start Friday's second-half opener against the Cubs, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman has been downright awful this season, owning career-worst numbers across the board, including a 5.85 ERA and 1.76 WHIP through 19 starts. Regardless, Showalter will start the second half of 2017 just the way he began the year, with Gausman on the hill. The Opening Day starter won't have an easy assignment against the defending champs as the righty looks to turn his season around.

Gausman gave up six runs (five earned) on nine hits over four-plus innings while striking out seven in Friday's loss to the Twins. He didn't factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Manny Machado and the O's offense staked Gausman to a 6-0 lead by the third inning but the right-hander quickly proceeded to cough it up, allowing two runs in the fourth and putting the first four batters in the fifth on base before getting yanked and watching the bullpen complete the collapse. The 26-year-old had been showing signs of turning things around lately and still has a 3.27 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 29:6 K:BB over 22 innings in his last four starts, offering some hope to fantasy GMs who have stuck with him heading into the second half.

Gausman turned in his best start of the year Sunday, tossing seven shutout innings while striking out nine to pick up the win against the Rays. He allowed two hits and walked two.
EDGE Analysis
This was only the second time this season that he has managed to log seven innings, and the nine strikeouts tied a season high. He now boasts a 13.2-scoreless inning streak, and his 5.61 ERA is the lowest it has been since April 13. His next start will be Friday in Minnesota. If he was dropped in a deeper league, it might be worth seeing if he has actually figured something out over his past couple outings.

Gausman's struggles continued in June when he went 1-3 with a 6.41 ERA and 1.84 WHIP over 26.2 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman has been one of the most disappointing players through the first half of 2017. The fantasy world set high expectations for the 26-year-old in his fifth MLB season, but he's come nowhere close to meeting those hopes. Gausman's ERA is second-worst among 73 qualified pitchers in MLB, while his WHIP ranks dead last. In an unbelievable turn of events since March, the right-hander is not even worthy of rostering in a majority of formats.

Gausman tossed 5.1 scoreless innings in Tuesday's win over the Blue Jays, allowing four hits and two walks with four strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman was on his game in this one, holding the opposition without an extra-base hit and allowing just two men past first base. He labored a bit in his last couple of frames and upped his pitch count to 99 before his removal with one out in the fifth. Though he left a bit prematurely, Gausman's first scoreless outing since last August was a positive sign after he had gone 0-3 with 15 earned runs against over 14.2 innings in his last three starts. His ERA still sits at an unsightly 6.07 for the season, but he will use this outing as a building block heading into Sunday's matchup with the Rays.

Gausman (3-7) allowed three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out nine batters during Wednesday's loss to Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
Considering the opponent, this was arguably Gausman's best start of the season. After all, the 26-year-old righty sports a disastrous 6.47 ERA and 1.88 WHIP. The nine strikeouts were a season high, and despite taking the loss, it was an encouraging outing. Gausman owns the potential to turn his season around, so he's worth monitoring. A road start against Toronto is up next.

Gausman (3-6) surrendered five runs on nine hits and three walks while striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings during Friday's loss to St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman has now allowed 16 runs over 15.2 innings through his past three starts, and he's up to a ratio-killing 6.60 ERA and 1.92 WHIP for the campaign. Those are crippling fantasy numbers, and despite showing flashes this year and owning plenty of pedigree, Gausman currently cannot be viewed as a reliable starter against the majority of opponents. He projects to make a home start against Cleveland next.

Gausman (3-5) allowed seven runs on eight hits and six walks across 3.1 innings in Sunday's loss to the Yankees. He did not record a strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
Most of the damage to Gausman's line was done in the first inning, when he allowed a two-run single to Starlin Castro before Gary Sanchez belted a three-run home run. He ran into more trouble in the fourth, allowing another pair of runs before he was yanked with one out. While this season has been quite frustrating for Gausman and any fantasy owners who have stuck with him, this shellacking is especially discouraging since he had appeared to be on the right track with a 3.65 ERA over his previous four starts. Now the owner of an unsightly 6.49 ERA and a 1.90 WHIP, Gausman will next toe the rubber Friday against the Cardinals.

Gausman allowed four runs on eight hits and one walk across 6.2 innings during Tuesday's no-decision against the Pirates. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman ran into trouble in the second inning, allowing three runs after four consecutive hits started a rally, but he settled down thereafter and was only scored upon again on a solo home run by David Freese. He enjoyed improved control in this one after walking a season-high five in his previous start and reached five punchouts for just the third time this season. Gausman's 2017 campaign has been quite disappointing, as his 5.86 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and 6.4 K/9 all suggest, but he will try to begin righting the ship Sunday against the Yankees.
