Lagares was removed from Thursday's game against the Nationals in the fifth inning with an undisclosed injury, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
He initially stayed in the game and finished out the top of the fifth after being checked on by the training staff following a diving attempt in the field. However, when Lagares' turn in the lineup came, manager Terry Collins sent up Curtis Granderson in his place. Lagares was starting to add a spark at the top of an already banged up Mets lineup, so losing him beyond Thursday would be another blow to New York. More updates on Lagares figure to come across before the Mets release their lineup Friday.

Lagares will start in center field and bat leadoff Wednesday against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Michael Conforto (back) remains out of the lineup for a third consecutive game, so for the second straight contest, Lagares will enter the starting nine and set the table for the Mets. Conforto acknowledged Wednesday that he feels capable of entering the game off the bench if needed, so with a trip to the disabled list seeming unlikely for the star outfielder, Lagares shouldn't be in store for a long-term stay in the lineup.

Lagares went 4-for-5 with a homer, a steal and two runs in Tuesday's loss to the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Making his first start since May 28, Lagares took full advantage of the opportunity, filling out the stat sheet from the ninth spot in the order. Unfortunately, with the Mets' starting outfield generally pretty well set, he doesn't get to draw many starts, and the impending return of Yoenis Cespedes will likely cut down Lagares' playing time even more.

Lagares went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's extra-inning loss to the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
The homer was his first of the season. Despite a .208/.296/.313 slash line, Lagares continues to see semi-regular action with Curtis Granderson struggling, but he should return to a bench role once Yoenis Cespedes (hamstring) is healthy.

Lagares is starting in center field and batting leadoff for Saturday's game against the Nationals, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's just the second time this season Lagares has hit leadoff and the first time he will start in consecutive games. Evidently, the 28-year-old figures to be a major beneficiary in a Mets' lineup depleted by injuries, primarily taking over for Yoenis Cespedes (hamstring) while Jay Bruce takes over at first base. He will need to improve upon his .091 average, however, if he is to continue seeing opportunities.

Lagares came on as part of a double-switch in the 10th inning of Thursday's win over the Marlins, playing center field for the next seven innings and going 0-for-3.
EDGE Analysis
The Mets' original plan called for Lagares to take Thursday off after being activated from the DL and get the start Friday against left-hander Adam Conley, but that plan got tossed out the window during the 16-inning marathon. Conley ended up pitching the final innings for Miami and will be replaced on the mound by Edinson Volquez on Friday, so expect Lagares to remain on the bench until the next time the Mets face a southpaw.

Manager Terry Collins said Lagares will likely start in center field against the Marlins on Friday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lagares was activated from the 10-day disabled list Thursday, and the Mets are wasting no time getting him back into action, as Collins noted he's full go medically. With southpaw Adam Conley taking the mound for Miami on Friday, it appears righty-hitting Lagares will take over for lefty-hitting Curtis Granderson in center field.

Lagares (oblique) was activated from the 10-day disabled list Thursday, James Wagner of The New York Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lagares has been steadily making his way back from a strained oblique he suffered late in spring training, and it appears he's now ready to rejoin the Mets. The 28-year-old should see a couple of starts a week as he returns to his role as a reserve outfielder. Paul Sewald was optioned to Triple-A as a corresponding move.

Lagares (oblique) will play seven innings in a rehab game Tuesday and could rejoin the Mets over the weekend, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lagares was originally supposed to play in minor-league games Monday and Wednesday, but he was feeling so well after Monday's game that the Mets are hopeful he will be ready for the weekend series against the Marlins after testing his oblique in another minor-league game Tuesday. Once he's reinstated from the DL, he's expected to return to his role as a reserve outfield option for the Mets.

Lagares (oblique) is beginning his rehab assignment Monday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The current plan is for Lagares to play in minor-league games Monday and Wednesday before returning to the big club by the end of the weekend. Once he's activated from the DL, Lagares is expected to return to his role as a reserve option in the Mets' outfield.
