Phegley was placed on the 15-Day DL on Monday, reports John Hickey of the Bay Area News Group.
EDGE Analysis
Phegley has not appeared in a game since last Monday due to his hurt right knee and the A's finally decided to place him on the DL. Phegley is hitting .270 with zero homers so far in 2016 over 37 at-bats. Once healthy, he will return to his spot as the A's backup catching, spelling Stephen Vogt, usually when the A's face a lefty.

Phegley (knee) says he's feeling better, but manager Bob Melvin hasn't ruled out the possibility for a DL-stint, John Hickey of Bay Area News Group reports.
EDGE Analysis
Phegley commented that he's "feeling awesome" but Bob Melvin said that if the catcher can't return before the weekend, a trip to the DL is a possibility. More news concerning the progress of the 28-year-old's knee recovery will likely be released in the coming days. Callup Matt McBride will fill in for Phegley behind the dish during his absence.

Phegley (knee) is out of the lineup Monday against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
With left-hander Derek Holland getting the ball for Texas, one would think Phegley could slot into the lineup, but it appears that his knee is still bothering him. The Rangers are slated to throw lefties in each game for the rest of the series, so Phegley has plenty of opportunities to return if he can prove he's healthy. Matt McBride is in the lineup as the starting catcher for Monday's contest while he and Stephen Vogt both sit on the bench.

Phegley (knee) is making progress in his recovery, but manager Bob Melvin was unwilling to place a target date for the catcher's return, Joe Stiglich of CSN California reports.
EDGE Analysis
Phegley recently underwent a cortisone shot to address the lingering pain in his knee, so he may still have to wait a little bit for the shot to take full effect. He was able to play catch Saturday and said the session went well, so Phegley could be ready to go for Monday's series opener with the Rangers.

Phegley (knee) played catch Saturday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Phegley remains out of the lineup Saturday after he received a cortisone shot in his knee, which generally keeps a player out for a few days. He told reporters that his on-field workout Saturday went well, but it's still unclear whether he'll be able to return to action for Sunday's series finale.

Phegley is dealing with right knee inflammation, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Phegley has dealt with soreness in his knee for a couple weeks, and he was ultimately sent for a cortisone shot Thursday. He will likely be sidelined for a few days to see if the swelling subsides, but the A's are hoping that is the extent of his absence. They did call up fellow catcher Matt McBride to provide another option behind the plate for the time being, however.

Phegley (wrist) is batting eighth and starting behind the plate Wednesday against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
While earlier it seemed as if Phegley was in line for a few days off as he deals with lingering wrist soreness, the 28-year-old catcher will get the start Wednesday. He's played just once since April 16; however, he's hitting .368 on the season. He replaces Stephen Vogt at catcher.

Phegley is dealing with some left wrist soreness, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The A's selected utility journeyman Matt McBride's contract from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday to add some depth behind the plate and give Phegley some time to wrest his wrist ailment. Phegley could see some intermittent days off in the near future until his wrist issues clear up, which would make McBride the emergency catcher behind regular starter Stephen Vogt. That said, there has been no mention of a possible DL stint for Phegley to this point, so he should be considered day-to-day for the time being.

Phegley went 2-for-4 and raised his average to .375 in Oakland's 5-3 win over Kansas City on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Phegley has begun 2016 in a 30-70 platoon role with Stephen Vogt and has been making the most of it. In 16 at-bats, the 28-year-old has six hits and is currently leading the Athletics in OBP at .412. If 2015 is any indication, Phegley will likely man the dish every three games or so and end the season with somewhere between 200 and 250 at-bats.

Phegley will serve as the backup at catcher for Stephen Vogt and could see some extra early season at-bats behind the plate due to Vogt's off-season elbow surgery.
EDGE Analysis
It seems likely the A's will take it easy on Vogt early in the season, perhaps giving him a few spot starts at DH and first base to not over-exert the elbow. Vogt has fallen off the second half the last two years and Phegley could be the beneficiary of the A's trying to keep Vogt a bit more fresh in 2016. Even when Vogt is healthy, Phegley will start against most lefties the A's face this year and could be a sneaky cheap DFS play when the A's face a lefty.
