Phegley, who notched his second RBI with a run-scoring single in Tuesday's Cactus League loss to the Rockies, is slashing just .214/.200/.286 over 14 at-bats this spring.
EDGE Analysis
The reserve catcher has just three hits in 14 at-bats thus far, including a double, along with two runs. Phegley has also whiffed six times, so contact has certainly been a problem in the early going. The 29-year-old lost 10 pounds over the offseason and appears fully recovered from the knee synovitis that curtailed his 2016 campaign. However, he figures to see modest playing time once again in the short side of a platoon with Stephen Vogt in 2017, likely seeing the bulk of his playing time against southpaws.

Phegley (knee) is a full go for spring training and reported to camp about 10 pounds lighter, CSN California's Joe Stiglich reports.
EDGE Analysis
There will be no restrictions on Oakland's No. 2 catcher heading into the spring after a knee injury cost him the final three months of the 2016 regular season. Phegley's career .211/.246/.348 slash line against righties should limit him to the short side of a platoon this season.

The A's hope Phegley (knee) will be ready to go for the start of spring training, the Bay Area News Group's John Hickey reports.
EDGE Analysis
He injured his knee in early July and missed the final three months of the regular season. Phegley figures to open the year occupying the short side of a platoon at catcher if healthy, with Stephen Vogt getting the starts against righties.

Phegley (snyovitis in right knee) is likely to be released from the hospital Tuesday but is unlikely to play again in 2016.
EDGE Analysis
Synovitis is a term for inflammation in a membrane that lines joints like those in the knee. Phegley underwent surgery on the knee back in July, and this setback effectively sends him back to square one. As such, particularly with the lack of minor league rehab games in September, it's hard to imagine him suiting up again this season.

Phegley (knee) suffered a setback and won't start Saturday's rehab game, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
More information regarding when Phegley will begin his rehab assignment should be known in the near future after the severity of his setback is revealed. In the meantime, Stephen Vogt will continue to be Oakland's primary starter behind the plate.

Phegley (knee) will begin a rehab assignment Saturday and will DH at first, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
It remains unclear currently what minor league level he'll report to, but the club will likely take it slowly after Phegley underwent knee surgery less than two months ago. He'll be eligible to be activated off the 60-day DL at the beginning of September, but the 28-year-old will likely need to test out his knee with some games behind the plate in his rehab assignment to see if he's comfortable catching before rejoining the big league club.

Phegley (knee) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Phegley had began to take batting practice a few weeks ago, but the A's evidently determined that the catcher wasn't progressing as quickly as anticipated, making a return to the big club out of the cards in the near future. Since his DL stint is retroactive to July 1, Phegley won't be able to eligible to rejoin the A's until September. In the meantime, Bruce Maxwell will continue to work as the backup catcher behind Stephen Vogt.

Phegley (knee) will take batting practice Saturday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Phegley returned to baseball activities earlier in the week after undergoing minor surgery back on July 5. His recovery is moving along as expected, and the expectation remains that he'll be back with the A's sometime in early August.

Phegley (knee) was swinging the bat Tuesday and has begun participating in baseball activities again, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Phegley still needs more time before beginning his rehab assignment, but this news is a positive start for the 28-year-old catcher. He underwent minor knee surgery July 5, and could be back with the team around the start of August if things continue to progress well.

Phegley (knee) is progressing well and could start baseball activities next week, the San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser reports.
EDGE Analysis
He underwent surgery on July 5 to remove a cruciate ligament cyst from his right knee, and so far the recovery is going well. He could rejoin the A's in late July or early August, returning to his backup catcher role.
