The Brewers have yet to reveal an official timetable length for Lucroy, but a fracture would seem to imply that it will be well beyond the 15-day minimum. Martin Maldonado is slated to serve as the Brewers' primary catcher until further notice, while Juan Centeno will be recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs to serve as his backup.

Lucroy is 0-for-8 through two games, but the Brewers have totaled just two runs as a team, so he is not the only one struggling at the plate. Lucroy was slowed by a hamstring injury early in spring training, but he suffered no setbacks after making his spring debut in mid-March, so consider him healthy at this time. Lucroy, who is expected to see some action at first base when he is not catching, is hitting second in the Brewers' batting order, so he will have ample opportunities to break out of his early mini-slump.
