Lucroy (hamstring) is in the lineup Saturday against the Dodgers. The Brewers were adamant that Lucroy's absence from Friday's lineup was strictly precautionary, and sure enough, the 28-year-old will return after missing just the one start. If the issue lingers, however, the team could opt to give him another respite from catching duties in the days ahead, with the team's next off day not until Aug. 18.

Lucroy is being held out of the lineup Friday as a precaution due to a sore hamstring, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. The Brewers are saying the injury is minor, so it would seem Lucroy stands a fairly good chance of returning to the lineup Saturday. That said, the team could take further precaution and hold Lucroy out again Saturday if it has any reservations about his health, in which case Martin Maldonado would draw another start behind the plate.

Lucroy is out of the Brewers' lineup Friday against the Dodgers. Lucroy will get a well-deserved day off after starting 11 straight games, though he was just afforded a day off from catching duties Wednesday. He started at first base in that game. Martin Maldonado will step in behind the plate Friday to catch starter Kyle Lohse with Lyle Overbay at first.

Jonathan Lucroy's second home run of the game also served to give the Brewers a 4-3, walk-off victory over the Reds on Tuesday. Lucroy homered off Reds starter Homer Bailey in the sixth inning, and leading off the ninth he took reliever Sam LeCure out to send the fans home happy. The homers were his first since July 4, also against the Reds. The All-Star catcher has now got 11 home runs to go with a .310/.381/.500 line on the year.

Jonathan Lucroy had a pair of RBI doubles in Tuesday's All-Star game loss to the American League. Lucroy wouldn't have been in the starting lineup if not for Yadier Molina's thumb injury, but he wound up being the offensive star for the National League. The Brewers' backstop doubled in Chase Utley with a double to left in the second and then drove in Dee Gordon with a two-bagger to right in the fourth, which tied the game up at the time. Lucroy's teammate, Aramis Ramirez, was the only other NL player to record two hits.

Jonathan Lucroy was 2-for-4 with a solo homer against the Reds on Friday. It was his ninth home run of the season. Lucroy ranks second among MLB catchers with 44 RBI and boasts an excellent .333/.401/.521 batting line on the year. While he might not beat out Yadier Molina in the balloting for the starting catcher gig for the NL in the All-Star Game, there's little doubt that he's been one of the league's best players during the first half of the season.
