Jay (wrist) was activated off the DL on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Jay missed over two months of action after suffering a left wrist injury, but he'll now be able to rejoin the Cardinals for the stretch run of the season. With Randal Grichuk on the DL with an elbow injury, Jay could split time in center field with Tommy Pham and Peter Buorjos for the time being.

Jay will take a week off from all activity and the Cardinals will re-evaluate the outfielder after the All-Star break, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
It seems as though Jay will miss more than the minimum 15 days as he'll likely need at least a few days and possibly a rehab stint even if everything looks good when the Cardinals re-evaluate him.

Jay (wrist) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Thursday.
Earlier reports indicated the possibility of this outcome for Jay, but now the move has become official, opening up a spot on the 25-man roster for Thursday's starter (Tim Cooney). The move will be retroactive to Wednesday, so it will at least shave one day off the amount of time he needs to wait to return. With the All-Star break nearing, he'll even miss a few less games than normal as well assuming he's healthy when he's eligible to return. Peter Bourjos will likely continue to serve as the primary center fielder while he's out.

Jay (wrist) could be placed on the disabled list, Jennifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
Jay missed batting practice Wednesday and has been battling wrist discomfort for the majority of the season, saying, "It's just been something that I've had to deal with all year. I'm not feeling good." Jay has missed two consecutive games and has a .185 batting average over his past 65 at-bats.

Jay is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox.
Wednesday's absence marks Jay's second in a row, and while the White Sox have trotted out two straight lefties, Jay also sat Saturday against a right-hander. He's posted a dismal .223/.311/.265 batting line in 57 games to this point, and it seems he will continue splitting time in center with Peter Bourjos.

Jay is out of the lineup Saturday against the Cubs.
Jay will take what looks to be a scheduled day off Saturday, with Peter Bourjos receiving the start in center field in his place. Jay has struggled at the dish in June, batting just .172/.258/.259 in 22 games, which could lead to more days off in the future if he doesn't turn things around.

Jay is out of the lineup against the Phillies Saturday.
Jay finds himself out of the lineup after two straight games manning center field for the Cards. He will be replaced by Peter Bourjos, batting eighth in the lineup, who owns a lifetime .474 batting average against Phillies starter Aaron Harang (19 AB). Jay has been caught in a timeshare with Bourjos recently, and that figures to continue until performance dictates otherwise.
