Jay (forearm) is becoming more mobile and is still a couple weeks from being able to swing, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
An early return for Jay seems very unlikely at this point, as he's currently working to be able to swing again. Travis Jankowski will likely continue to start in center field until Jay returns to the lineup.

Jay's (forearm) cast has been removed but he still hasn't received clearance to begin swinging a bat, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jay sits at the early end of his four-to-six week timetable, but will likely require a week or two more before potentially rejoining the lineup. In the meantime, Travis Jankowski will continue with everyday duties in center field.

Jay (forearm) is expected to miss four-to-six weeks, Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Preliminary X-rays were negative after Jay was hit by a pitch back on June 19, but a fracture was recently discovered and Jay will need at least a month to recover. Travis Jankowski will likely benefit the most from Jay's absence although Melvin Upton Jr. will likely see occasional starts in center, affording Alex Dickerson time in left.

Jay (forearm) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
This move was expected after Jay was diagnosed with a fracture in his right forearm Tuesday. He was placed on the disabled list retroactive to June 20, but it'd be highly unlikely for him to return after the minimum 15 days. His absence will leave a hole in the top of the Padres order as Jay had been one of the more effective leadoff men in baseball to start the season. The Padres recalled Alex Dickerson from Triple-A El Paso on Tuesday in a corresponding move.

Jay was diagnosed with a broken forearm Monday, Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Already out since June 19, Jay finally had a CT scan Monday, revealing that his injury is more than just a bad bruise. He'll presumably be placed on the 15-day disabled list, likely giving Travis Jankowski an extended opportunity to make regular starts in center field. However, the Padres might consider calling up top outfield prospects Manuel Margot and Hunter Renfroe.

Jay (arm) remains out of the lineup Sunday against the Reds, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Jay having not played since June 19 and missing his sixth straight game since being struck in the arm by a pitch, the Padres may have to seriously start considering a DL stint for the outfielder. In Jay's stead, the Padres have been giving Travis Jankowski regular starts in center field, and he's been a capable performer at the top of the lineup, going 6-for-22 with five walks, five runs and five stolen bases.

Jay (arm) remains out of the lineup for a fifth straight game, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
The hit by pitch Jay suffered in a game on Sunday was obviously more severe than expected as he's now missed nearly a week of action as a result of it. With his absence, Travis Jankowski has seen the diamond in five consecutive games. Jay was one of the Padres' hottest hitters before being sidelined, slashing .356/.390/.466 with 14 runs this month.

Jay (arm) is not in the lineup Friday for the fourth day in a row, according to Jamie Ramsey of the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Jay will not start the series opener against the Reds as he continues to recover from the arm injury he suffered when he was hit by a pitch last Sunday. Travis Jankowski will receive another start in center field in Jay's place.

Jay (arm) remains out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Jay left Sunday's game after being plunked by a pitch, and has yet to return to the field. Thursday will mark his fourth straight game out of the lineup as Travis Jankowski will continue to play in center. Jay has had a great year in 2016, hitting .296/.345/.407 with tow home runs and 23 RBI for the Padres.

Jay (forearm) is out of the lineup for the third straight game, Bill Center of FriarWire reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jay has been terrific this year for San Diego, hitting .296/.345/.407 with two home runs, 23 RBI, and 35 runs. His situation is worth monitoring and he will continue to be considered day-to-day for the time being.
