Jay, who led off for the third time in his last three starts Friday night, went 2-for-5 with a run scored against the Pirates. He scored the game-winning run on an RBI from Matt Adams in the 10th inning Friday. Jay appears to be the new leadoff hitter for the Cardinals while Matt Carpenter is now hitting second, and Jason Heyward has hit sixth in three of the past four contests.

Jay is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Phillies. It's just the third off day for Jay this season, but the second in the last four games. After getting off to a slow start at the plate, Jay has collecting five hits in his last 10 at bats. Peter Bourjos will receive another start in center field and lead off in his stead.
