John Danks (shoulder) hopes to return from the disabled list Monday when first eligible. ''I'm making progress," Danks said. ''I haven't been told a schedule or anything, but we'll see how it feels Sunday.'' The White Sox have yet to decide if Danks will need a rehab stint before returning to the majors. Jose Quintana will be demoted if/when he's cleared to return.

John Danks (shoulder) will throw bullpen sessions Friday and Saturday. Danks' left shoulder felt fine after throwing from 120 feet Wednesday. "We're making progress," said Danks. "It's looking all right. It's not 100 percent, but it's a million times better than what it was." He's eligible to return on June 4, and it sounds like he could be ready then or shortly after if his bullpen sessions go well.

John Danks (shoulder) threw long-toss Sunday without any issues. Danks noted that he only feels soreness in the back of his shoulder, whereas he used to be able to feel it in his arm, too. The left-hander hopes to throw a bullpen session soon. Danks had expressed hope when he went on the DL of returning in early June, but we'll see.

White Sox placed LHP John Danks on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 20, with a sore left shoulder. The move announced Thursday and has not become official. Danks is dealing with soreness behind his left shoulder, and although he hopes to return in early June, it's no sure thing. Jose Quintana has been called up and will take Danks' spot in the rotation Friday.

John Danks said he is currently dealing with soreness behind his left shoulder. Danks has been scratched from Friday's start against the Indians and is expected to be placed on the disabled list. Jose Quintana will be called up from Double-A Birmingham to pitch in his place Friday. It's clear how long Danks has been pitching through the soreness, but this would certainly explain why he has struggled so much in the early going. The southpaw hopes to return on June 4, but White Sox manager Robin Ventura seems to think he won't need a minor league rehab assignment.

Updating a previous item, John Danks from scratched from Friday's start due to "soreness." That really narrows it down. The exact nature of the injury isn't yet known, but given that his velocity, swinging strike rate and strikeout rates have all declined, we wouldn't be surprised if it was an arm injury of some sort. That's all speculation for now, of course. Jose Quintana will be called up from Double-A Birmingham to start in his place Friday.

John Danks turned in a good performance on Tuesday, limiting the Indians to three runs (two earned) on five hits over seven strong innings. Danks walked three and punched out just one in the game. He's struggled to find consistency in the early part of the season, though this start was a step up from his last outing. He remains 2-4, and lowered his ERA to 5.89. The left-hander will aim to get back in the win column when he takes on the Tigers on Monday.

John Danks earned his second win by holding the Mariners to four earned runs over six innings Sunday. Danks struck out six, walked four and yielded seven hits. After winning just eight games all of last year, he now has two wins in his first four games. Danks also has held opponents to four runs or less in each of those outings. He has a tough spot against the Red Sox at home next time out.

John Danks didn't pitch well but still picked up a victory Wednesday, giving up four runs on seven hits and five walks over 5 2/3 innings in a 10-6 win over the Indians. He struck out just three, threw two wild pitches and served up a home run to Travis Hafner. We supposed it all evens out, as Danks pitched much better last week in a tough matchup in Texas but walked away with a loss. He'll square off against the Orioles next week.

John Danks will start Opening Day against the Rangers on April 6. Not a big surprise, as Danks is the staff ace now that Mark Buehrle is with the Marlins. The 26-year-old southpaw posted a 4.33 ERA and 135/42 K/BB ratio over 170 1/3 innings last season and makes for a solid bounceback candidate in fantasy leagues, even on a bad White Sox team.
