John Danks (shoulder) confirmed that he expects to be ready for the start of the season.
Danks hasn't reported any setbacks in his surgically-repaired left shoulder, and has been throwing off a mound since last month. His next three throwing sessions will be in live batting practice, so the White Sox will continue to move him along slowly. If all goes well, Danks should make his Cactus League debut against the Giants on March 4.

John Danks (shoulder) threw a 10-minute bullpen session on Thursday morning in White Sox camp.
Danks even mixed in a few breaking pitches and felt no discomfort in his surgically-repaired left shoulder. He should be 100 percent when the season begins.

John Danks (shoulder) has begun throwing off a mound.
Danks has thrown 40 pitches three times per week since January 2, including 30 fastballs and 10 changeups. While he has felt good enough to increase his workload, the White Sox want him to take it easy for now. "My top priority is getting healthy, which is why on the same day I'm throwing and doing my shoulder program, I'm still doing my workout and conditioning," said Danks, who had arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder last August. "Right now, I feel like I'm as good as I can be. Coming off surgery and whatnot, I feel ready to go." The White Sox will likely be cautious with him in the early part of spring training, but he's expected to be ready for the regular season barring setbacks.

John Danks (shoulder) has already had two throwing sessions.
Danks wasn't supposed to resume throwing until Thursday, but the White Sox decided to push up the timetable a bit. He made 20 throws from 45 feet and 15 tosses from 60 feet Monday before bumping up his reps a bit Wednesday. "We did it so my schedule is lined up to throw off a mound after Jan. 1," Danks said. "So far, so good. It feels like I haven't thrown in a while, but it's a positive step." The lefty added that he was checked out by doctors last week, and they were "very pleased" with his progress from arthroscopic shoulder surgery. Barring a setback, he should be on a pretty normal routine in spring training.

John Danks (shoulder) is scheduled to resume throwing on Thursday.
Danks is coming back from early August arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder. Dan Hayes of CSNChicago.com reports that the left-hander is "healthy and on track," though obviously more will be known about his status after he's throwing again. With Jake Peavy and Gavin Floyd returning and Dank hopefully coming back healthy, the Sox should have a formidable rotation in 2013.

John Danks (shoulder) hopes to begin a throwing program before the end of the season.
Danks is out for the year after undergoing arthroscopic shoulder surgery in early August. ''In a normal offseason, I wouldn't throw until after the new year,'' he said. ''But since I'll be a few months without even touching a baseball, I was thinking if I can start playing light catch or start a throwing program toward the end of November, I would imagine that would give me enough time [to be ready for spring training].''

John Danks underwent successful surgery on his left shoulder Monday.
Danks underwent surgery to arthroscopically repair a capsular tear and minor debridements of the rotator cuff and biceps in his left shoulder. The good news is that he is expected to be ready for the start of spring training. The 27-year-old southpaw posted an ugly 5.70 ERA in nine starts this year in the first season of a five-year, $65 million extension.
