John Danks allowed four earned runs over six innings Saturday as the White Sox lost to the Astros.
It was an ugly outing against a bad Astros offense for Danks, who threw eight innings of one-run ball last week against the American League West-leading A's. The left-hander allowed five Houston hits -- two of which were homers -- and issued one walk. He'll carry a 6.00 ERA into his next scheduled start in Minnesota.

John Danks fired eight innings of one-run ball Saturday as the White Sox beat the A's 4-1.
Danks dominated the Oakland lineup all afternoon, yielding only three hits and one walk while tallying six strikeouts. The 28-year-old left-hander now has a cool 4.13 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in 24 innings since returning from the disabled list on May 24 and deserves consideration again in mixed fantasy leagues. Addison Reed closed out Saturday's victory with a scoreless ninth inning to earn his 18th save of the season.

John Danks pitched decently in a loss Monday, allowing four runs - three earned - over six frames against the Mariners.
He struck out five while permitting seven hits and a walk. Danks pitched quite well other than in the third inning, when he was tagged with three hits and all three earned runs. The left-hander has now posted quality starts in two of three tries since his return from the DL, but he was far from dominant in both outings. Danks remains a low-level mixed league play and has a tough matchup against the A's this weekend.

John Danks surrendered four runs -- three earned -- and two homers in four innings Wednesday in a loss to the Cubs.
The surprisingly solid first outing was a bigger surprise than this one; Danks just isn't throwing well enough at the moment to be a quality big-league starter. The White Sox will be patient and hope his stuff improves with time, but fantasy leaguers should view him as a spot starter at best.

John Danks was solid in his first start back from shoulder surgery Friday, giving up three runs in six-plus innings in a no-decision against the Marlins.
He reached the 90s a couple of times with his fastball, but mostly sat in the high 80s. Danks was pulled after giving up a leadoff double to Marcell Ozuna in the top of the seventh inning. Ozuna eventually came around to score on a sacrifice fly, which cost Danks a chance at the victory. Still, it was an encouraging outing for the southpaw, as he gave up just four hits and walked nine while striking out five. He has another favorable matchup next week against the Cubs, but most mixed league owners can afford to wait and see for now.

White Sox activated LHP John Danks from the 15-day disabled list.
He'll make his season debut on Friday against the Marlins. Danks wound up posting a 3.18 during his four rehab starts, but he held a 15/13 K/BB ratio and his velocity isn't all the way back yet. Consider him only in AL-only formats for the time being.

John Danks (shoulder) will be activated from the disabled list to make his season debut on Friday against the Marlins.
It's been assumed for a few days that Danks would get the call Friday, and White Sox manager Robin Ventura has finally made it official. The left-hander posted a 3.18 ERA during four rehab starts, but he also had a 15/13 K/BB ratio and is still dealing with diminished velocity. Mixed leaguers should stay away for now.

John Danks (shoulder) went 4 2/3 innings Saturday in his third minor league rehab start.
If everything checks out with the left-hander early this week, he should be cleared to join the White Sox starting rotation on Friday night against the Marlins. Danks has been on the shelf all year and makes for a decent waiver stash right now in AL-only fantasy leagues. Since he's coming off shoulder surgery and still rebuilding his arm strength, it might not be wise to trust him in standard mixed formats.

John Danks (shoulder) could rejoin the White Sox' rotation next weekend.
Danks will make what could be his final rehab start with Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday. The left-hander holds a 3.00 ERA over three rehab outings, but he has a 10/9 K/BB ratio over 18 innings and his velocity remains down. Fantasy owners should take a wait-and-see approach, though he would get a nice first matchup against the Marlins if he returns next weekend.

White Sox manager Robin Ventura confirmed that John Danks (shoulder) will make at least one more rehab start.
Danks holds a 3.00 ERA over three minor league rehab starts, but he has a 10/9 K/BB ratio over 18 innings and his velocity remains down. However, the White Sox like how he's coming along and think he'll be ready to help out the big club soon. Dylan Axelrod or Hector Santiago will lose their rotation spot when Danks returns.
