Panik went 1-for-3 with a solo-blast in the 3-1 loss to the Dodgers on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Panik was the only Giant to have any sort of success against Dodgers starter Kenta Maeda on Sunday. While the batting average isn't where owners hoped it would be (.261) two weeks into the season, he is slugging 23 points higher than he did last season. This could result in him surpassing his career-high of eight homers (in 100 games last season) and finishing in the 15-18 range this year.

Panik (hip) is back in the lineup Friday against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
A left hip injury, suffered on a diving attempt Wednesday, ended up costing Panik just the one start. Panik, who has hit same-handed pitching at a .326/.372/.431 clip so far in his career, will return to the two-hole even with dominant lefty Clayton Kershaw on the mound for the opposition.

Panik is considered day-to-day after injuring his hip in Wednesday's game against the Rockies, Alex Pavlovic of CSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The injury occurred when Panik dove for a ball and landed on his hip. While he isn't starting Thursday's game, it doesn't appear to be serious as manager Bruce Bochy has stated he should be fine to play Friday.

Panik is not in the lineup Thursday against the Rockies, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Panik started the last three games at second base, but he'll give way to Kelby Tomlinson on Thursday with left-hander Jorge De Le Rosa on the mound for Colorado. Tomlinson will bat ninth in the order.

Panik returned to the lineup Sunday, going 1-for-5 with a double, a pair of RBI and a run scored in a 9-6 win over the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Panik got Saturday off with Clayton Kershaw on the mound, and he may see a handful of rest days when the Giants face a tough lefty. The batting average (.269) isn't where owners were hoping quite yet, but he is a hot streak away from being back at the 300-mark. The real positive to take away here is that three of Panik's seven hits have been of the extra-base variety, a good sign that he can replicate or possibly surpass his .455 SLG from a year ago.

Panik is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Panik has gotten off to a solid start to the season, working a .300 average over 20 at-bats, but he'll take a seat Saturday with left-hander Clayton Kershaw on the mound for the Dodgers. Kelby Tomlinson will get the start in place of Panik, batting seventh in the order, though Panik figures to be back in the lineup Sunday.

Panik went 3-for-5 with a triple, three RBI and three runs in a 12-6 win against the Dodgers on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The Giants' second baseman has been on base in all four games to start the year, and he's accompanied that success with a nice collection of counting stats already. After hitting over .300 in his first two seasons, there's no reason Panik shouldn't achieve the feat again, and a full season of at-bats should see him crack double-digit homers for the first time too.

Panik only collected one hit in his five plate appearances Monday, but his lone hit went for a home run.
EDGE Analysis
Panik was one of four Giants who went yard in their season opener. The home run helps prove his case that the 122 point jump in OPS from 2014 to 2015 was no fluke. While we shouldn't expect a huge power outbreak, hitting second in the Giants' potent lineup should result in career-high counting stats this season. Fantasy owners could do worse if they decided to go with cheap at the second base position.

Panik (back) says he is "100 percent" and was cleared by team doctors in mid-December, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Panik was already considered good to go for spring training, but this should confirm his health for 2016. The 25-year-old will be trying to match a career season in which he hit .312/.378/.455 while striking out in less than 10 percent of plate appearances.

Panik (back) was placed on the 60-day DL on Wednesday, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Bruce Bochy had suggested Panik's season was likely over following his latest setback, but this roster move makes it official. It's a tough way for his sophomore season to end, but Panik turned in strong production when on the field, batting .312/.378/.455 with eight homers and 37 RBI. Kelby Tomlinson will remain the starting second baseman the rest of the way.
