Joe Kelly yielded two runs over six innings Friday in a no-decision in Game 1 of the NLCS against the Dodgers.
Kelly really labored early on, but he managed to avoid a meltdown and held the Dodgers scoreless for his final three innings of work. He allowed six hits and two walks while striking out five and threw 57 out of 95 pitches for strikes. The Cardinals went on to win the game in 13 innings and will look to Michael Wacha in Game 2 on Saturday.

Joe Kelly will start for the Cardinals in NLCS Game 1 on Friday night against the Dodgers.
Kelly will match up against Dodgers righty Zack Greinke in that series-opener Friday in St. Louis. Michael Wacha will pitch Game 2 and Adam Wainwright is on tap for Game 3. Shelby Miller will apparently remain in the bullpen.

Joe Kelly surrendered three runs (two earned) on five hits and four walks over 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Pirates in Game 3 of the NLDS on Sunday.
The Pirates jumped on Kelly early on, stringing together an Andrew McCutchen walk, Justin Morneau infield single and two-run single from Marlon Byrd in the first inning. He battled back nicely though, and kept the Pirates at bay until one of his inherited runners scored on a Russell Martin sacrifice fly in the sixth.

Manager Mike Matheny confirmed Thursday that Joe Kelly would start Game 3 of the NLDS.
He'll follow Adam Wainwright and Lance Lynn in the rotation. Not yet known is whether Michael Wacha or Shelby Miller will get the ball in Game 4. They'll both be available in relief today.

Joe Kelly tossed 5 1/3 scoreless innings in the Cardinals' 4-0 defeat of the Cubs on Sunday.
Kelly was only expected to pitch 1-2 innings, but he was in such a groove and throwing so free-and-easy that Cardinals manager Mike Matheny decided to leave him in until the seventh. Kelly wound up yielding just three hits while fanning five. He did not walk a batter. The Cardinals are the top seed in the National League playoffs and will open their NLDS on Thursday against the winner of the NL Wild Card Game.

Jake Westbrook is only expected to pitch 1-2 innings in his start versus the Cubs Sunday.
The Cards are giving him the ball as a means to acknowledge his contributions to the club over the last 3 1/2 seasons, but Joe Kelly will throw more innings Sunday. Those in fantasy leagues that own Kelly should still considering streaming him against a weak Cubs lineup.

Joe Kelly will be pushed back in the rotation to start Sunday's season finale against the Cubs.
Kelly was originally scheduled to start Saturday, but Adam Wainwright will go in order to line him up for Game 1 of the NLDS. The 25-year-old right-hander owns a 2.73 ERA over 118 2/3 innings this season and should be active in fantasy leagues.

Joe Kelly was hurt by a poor defensive effort behind him in Sunday's loss to the Brewers as he surrendered six runs (three earned) on seven hits over seven frames.
Kelly walked a pair and struck out two on the night. Three defensive miscues by the Cardinals led to three unearned runs, directly resulting in Kelly being handed his fifth loss of the season. The 25-year-old right-hander has pitched very well for the Cardinals this season, posting a 9-5 record, 2.73 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 74/44 K/BB ratio over 118 2/3 innings. He'll look to wrap up the regular season on a high note when he does battle against the Cubs at home on Saturday.

Joe Kelly (calf) has been cleared to start Sunday in Milwaukee.
Kelly exited Tuesday's start in Colorado early due to calf tightness that had been bothering him for more than a week. He completed a bullpen session Thursday with no issues, though, and is worth streaming against the Brewers.

Joe Kelly has no structural damage in his right calf.
Kelly made an early exit from his start Tuesday night against the Rockies, but the Cardinals had a huge lead and the move was mostly precautionary. Kelly should be fine for his next turn in the starting rotation.
