A major league source tells FOXSports.com that the Giants are trying to move Jeremy Affeldt and/or right-hander Ramon Ramirez this offseason. Jeremy Affeldt was used in a closer's role Sunday against the Astros, but Ramon Ramirez ended up earning the save in extra innings. With the game tied at four heading into the ninth inning, manager Bruce Bochy called on Affeldt. The dominant lefty did his job, pitching two scoreless innings. But Affeldt was spent once the Giants grabbed the lead, so Ramirez came in and nabbed the save with a perfect 11th inning. Today only confirmed that Affeldt is the closer to own with Brian Wilson (elbow) on the DL. He has given up just one earned run in his last 17 1/3 innings.
