According to CSN's Jaymee Sire, Jeremy Affeldt will miss the remainder of the season after accidentally cutting his right hand with a knife while trying to separate frozen hamburgers. He suffered nerve damage and underwent surgery on Thursday. The good news is that Affeldt is a lefty, so this shouldn't affect his ability to be ready for the start of spring training next year. Affeldt finishes his 2011 campaign with a 2.63 ERA, 1.151 WHIP and 2.25 SO/BB across 61.2 IP.
