The Rockies have reversed Hoffman's (shoulder) activation from the disabled list and subsequent optioning to Triple-A Albuquerque, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Following Sunday's unique roster move, Hoffman will now remain on the 10-day disabled list and will continue making rehab starts with Triple-A Albuquerque. It's unclear how many more rehab appearances he'll need before returning from the DL.

Hoffman (shoulder) was reinstated from the 10-day DL and optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Hoffman will remain with Albuquerque after throwing four innings with the Triple-A club during his latest rehab outing against Tacoma on Thursday. The right-hander is finally back to full health after dealing with shoulder soreness over the past six weeks. Hoffman will serve as organizational depth for Colorado moving forward, as he's likely the first man up in the event a regular in the rotation goes down with an injury.

Hoffman (shoulder) covered three innings in his rehab start Tuesday for High-A Lancaster, surrendering two runs on five hits and no walks while striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
Hoffman tossed 44 pitches in the outing and will likely need to build up to the 75-to-100 range before the Rockies are comfortable activating him from the 10-day disabled list. It will probably take him another two or three starts to get to that level, so don't expect the right-hander to be ready to go until later in the month. Unless the Colorado rotation is hit by further injury in the next couple of weeks or one of its members suffers a dramatic downturn in performance, it's likely that Hoffman will be optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque once activated.

Hoffman (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Lancaster on Tuesday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander has been out since early March with this injury, but it seems like he's progressing nicely in his rehab program. Given his absence, Hoffman will likely require a few starts in the minors in order to build back up to a starter's workload. After that, he'll push for a major-league rotation spot.

Hoffman (shoulder) will throw a simulated game Friday at the Rockies' facilities in Arizona, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hoffman was scratched from a start during spring training back on March 4, but it seems like he's nearing a return to game action. If all goes well in Friday's session, the pitching prospect is expected to embark on a rehab assignment with High-A Lancaster. He'll likely need a couple rehab starts in order to build back up to a starter's workload.

Hoffman (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
This is not surprising, as he has been dealing with shoulder soreness since early March. There is no firm timetable for Hoffman's return, so consider him out indefinitely for now.

Hoffman (shoulder) is expected to begin the season on the disabled list, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The pitching prospect has been out of commission since early March due to shoulder soreness. Since he's not expected to return to some form of game action until sometime in April, it makes a lot of sense for the team to simply open up his roster spot to begin the year. With Hoffman starting the season on the disabled list, Kyle Freeland will grab the fifth starter role while Antonio Senzatela begins the season as a long reliever in the big leagues.

Hoffman (shoulder) expects to pitch in some sort of game action in April, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hoffman has been limited to two outings this spring due to shoulder soreness, but the team reports that he is almost ready to throw bullpen sessions again. The Rockies didn't specify whether the game appearances in April would be in the form of a minor-league rehab assignment or a full-blown minor-league option, but things should become clearer once his return comes closer.

Hoffman (shoulder) is not expected to be ready to go by the start of the regular season, Nick Groke of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The issue that forced the right-hander out of action Sunday was dubbed as shoulder soreness, but it seems like the issue is a bit worse than initially expected. Reports say that Hoffman's health is improving, however. "We're just taking it really slow," Hoffman stated. "I'd rather be healthy down the stretch than push it too hard right now." This likely takes him out of contention for the Rockies' final rotation spot to begin the season, seemingly leaving Kyle Freeland and Antonio Senzatela as the final two arms duking it out for the fifth starter role. Hoffman could pitch his way into a more prominent role later on if his shoulder problems subside.

Hoffman was removed from a scheduled appearance Sunday due to shoulder soreness, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hoffman had been in line to compete for one of the final rotation spots in Colorado, though it doesn't sound as if this minor setback will put that in jeopardy yet. Manager Bud Black called Hoffman's removal "precautionary," so check back on his status in a few days time.
