Jason Vargas turned in a terrific outing in Saturday's victory over the Rays, allowing just one unearned run on seven hits over his six innings of work. Vargas racked up five strikeouts while walking three. A popular name on the trade block, Vargas may have made his final appearance as a member of the Mariners. Wherever his next start comes, he'll head into it with a 10-7 record, a 3.91 ERA and a 91/38 K/BB ratio over 138 innings.

Jason Vargas was decent Monday, permitting three runs on seven hits and three walks over six innings in a 9-4 win over the Royals. He didn't strike anyone out and allowed a pair of homers, but Vargas cruised to a win after his offense put up seven runs in the first two innings. It's his fourth straight quality start and second straight on the road, which is important as he auditions for other teams for a possible trade. He'll carry a 4.09 ERA and 1.17 WHIP into this weekend's start against the Rays.

Jon Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that the Tigers are interested in Jason Vargas. It's clear that the Tigers are intent on acquiring pitching help at the deadline, as they've been connected to many of the arms on the market. Vargas holds a 4.07 ERA and 1.15 WHIP this season for the Mariners but has a 5.09 mark away from home.

ESPN's Jayson Stark reports that the Orioles are now "poking around" on Mariners' left-hander Jason Vargas. The Orioles have been mentioned in connection with higher-profile names like Zack Greinke and Matt Garza, but it sounds like they are turning their attention to more realistic targets. Vargas has compiled a 4.07 ERA and 86/32 K/BB ratio over 19 starts this season, but he been knocked around to the tune of a 5.09 ERA outside of Safeco Field. He might not be the best fit for Camden Yards and the AL East.

Jason Vargas pitched his first complete game of the season Saturday in a 7-1 win over the A's. Parker allowed seven hits, but only Josh Reddick's first-inning homer did any damage. While the win tonight was his first since June 4, he's actually put together three very good starts in a row, with just four runs allowed in his last 23 2/3 innings. Overall, he's 8-7 with a 4.07 ERA.

Jason Vargas scattered five hits and one run across eight innings of Sunday's 2-1, 10-inning loss to the Red Sox. He struck out six and walked two. Vargas was tossing a shutout until Dustin Pedroia took him deep for a one-out, solo home run in the eighth. The quality start was just Varagas' second in his past six outings. The owner of a 4.31 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 80/31 K/BB ratio through 117 innings, Vargas will get the A's in Oakland on Saturday.

Jason Vargas struck out 10 while spinning 6 2/3 innings of two-run ball in a 3-2 victory over the A's in Seattle on Tuesday night. Vargas gave up only three hits and two talks while matching a career-high for punch-outs. The only damage he sustained was a two-run bomb by Yoenis Cespedes in the seventh. Coming into the game, Vargas had allowed 16 homers in 60 innings on the road, compared to just four in 42 1/3 innings at home. It's hard to get excited about Vargas' evening when it came in an ideal matchup coming off four June starts in which he'd allowed 23 runs, bumping his ERA from 3.45 to 4.66.

Jason Vargas was good enough to win Tuesday against the Rangers, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks in 6 2/3 innings of work. He struck out two. For the third consecutive start, Vargas gave up three runs in six-plus innings against tough competition (following starts at Colorado and LA). Vargas improves to 6-4 with a 3.45 ERA and 1.03 WHIP. Depending on the size of your mixed league, Vargas has become more than just a stream start based on whether or not he's pitching in SAFECO.
