Orioles activated RHP Jason Hammel from the 15-day disabled list. Hammel missed all of August with a forearm flexor mass strain. The Orioles haven't revealed their plan down the stretch for the 31-year-old right-hander. If he gets starts, he'll have some AL-only fantasy value.

Jason Hammel (forearm) is on track to be activated from the disabled list on Thursday. Hammel threw his final rehab start on Tuesday at Low-A Aberdeen. The O's have not decided what role the 31-year-old right-hander will fill for them down the stretch.

Jason Hammel (forearm) will make his next minor league rehab start Tuesday with Class A Aberdeen. Hammel allowed three hits and struck out three over 2 2/3 scoreless innings Thursday in his first rehab start with Double-A Bowie. He's slated to go 60-65 pitches or five innings on Tuesday before being reevaluated. The Orioles haven't ruled out bringing him back in a relief role.

Jason Hammel (forearm) will begin a rehab assignment Thursday with Double-A Bowie. Hammel was cleared after making it through a 45-pitch bullpen session Friday. Assuming he avoids setbacks, he should be activated from the DL early next month. The Orioles haven't ruled out using him as a reliever upon his return.

Jason Hammel (forearm) threw a successful 45-pitch bullpen session Friday. Hammel was able to mix in all of his pitches with no issues. He'll have another pen session on Sunday and will be cleared for a rehab assignment if that goes well. Barring a setback, he should be ready to rejoin the Orioles' rotation early next month.

Jason Hammel (forearm) felt good while throwing off flat ground Monday. Hammel should have another flat ground session in the middle of the week, which should allow him to get back on a mound. He'll likely require a rehab assignment, but the O's are hoping to have him back in September.

Jason Hammel (forearm) will throw off flat ground on Monday with an eye toward throwing off a mound on Friday. Hammel will throw off flat ground twice before Friday, once Monday and again Wednesday. If those go well, he'll try throwing from a mound Friday. He'll likely need a rehab assignment before returning, so there are still quite a few steps before he's back with the big club.

Jason Hammel (forearm) played catch Friday. Assuming no setbacks or discomfort, Hammel is expected to play catch again on Sunday or Monday. The 30-year-old has been sidelined since July 28 with a flexor mass strain. There's no clear timetable for his return.

Jason Hammel (forearm) will resume throwing on Friday. A cortisone injection last Friday has left Hammel feeling much better. The Orioles are sure to take it slowly with his recovery, especially since they have plenty of rotation options. The righty is nursing a flexor mass strain.

Jason Hammel said Monday that he thinks the cortisone injection he was given Friday has helped relieve some of the tightness in his right forearm. He's not sure, though, when he'll be allowed to resume throwing. Hammel is dealing with a flexor mass strain and seems unlikely to return before the end of the month.
