Junis, who's last outing was skipped, will toe the rubber Thursday afternoon in the series' finale against Colorado, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander got bypass over the weekend because Kansas City has no need for a sixth starter with a five-game on tap. Junis did appear in a long relief role Friday, but that wasn't pretty (four runs over 2.1 innings). He's done better, however, in a starting role (4.79 ERA in eight games) than as a reliever (6.75 ERA in four games) this season.

Junis will have his scheduled weekend start against the Indians skipped, Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Junis was originally lined up to start Sunday's game against the Indians, but with the Royals only playing five games in the next seven days, they'll opt to skip Junis's turn in the rotation and place Jason Hammel on the mound Sunday instead. Junis should rejoin the rotation with a fresh arm next week.

Junis (5-2) allowed two runs on four hits and struck out two over six innings to earn the win Monday against Oakland.
EDGE Analysis
Junis was fantastic in a spot start Aug. 6 against Seattle, an outing in which he lasted eight innings and gave up just one run with seven strikeouts. While he wasn't quite as dominant this time around, Junis was similarly sharp, needing just 83 pitches to complete six innings and throwing 18 first-pitch strikes to 24 hitters. What he lacked in swing-and-miss stuff he made up for with pristine control. Junis has thrown quality starts in three of his last four outings for the big club, and even with the Royals in the thick of the American League Wild Card race, the 24-year-old has earned a chance to show what he's got.

Junis was recalled from Triple-A Omaha and will start Monday's game against the Athletics, Joel Goldberg of FOX Sports Kansas City reports.
EDGE Analysis
After tossing eight innings of one-run ball in his spot start Aug. 6 against the Mariners, Junis didn't have to wait long for another opportunity in the big-league rotation, with Trevor Cahil's (shoulder) recent placement on the disabled list opening up another spot for him. However, aside from the gem he tossed the last time out with the Royals, Junis has failed to replicate his success with Omaha in the majors, with the 24-year-old sporting a 4.70 ERA and 1.39 WHIP over 44 innings. With Cahill having yet to resume throwing, Junis could be on tap for a two-start week with a second turn perhaps coming Sunday against the Indians, but fantasy owners in deeper mixed and AL-only settings may want to see more from him before entrusting him with a spot in their active lineups.

Junis was confirmed by manager Ned Yost as Monday's starter against the A's, Jeffrey Flanagan reports.
EDGE Analysis
Junis rejoins the Royals after delivering a brilliant performance Aug. 6 (one run allowed on four hits over eight innings) against Seattle. He takes the place of Trevor Cahill (shoulder) for the day, but whether Junis still around longer remains to be seen. The A's offense is one of the worst in MLB, and with the game at the pitcher-friendly Oakland Coliseum, Junis is an attractive option across all formats Monday.

Manager Ned Yost said Junis is "probably" the option to start Monday's game against the A's, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Junis could be back with the big club sooner than expected, as he is the leading candidate to make a spot start in place of the injured Trevor Cahill (shoulder). The 24-year-old has compiled a 4.70 ERA and 37:16 K:BB through 44 innings (10 appearances, seven starts) with the Royals this season.

Junis was optioned back to Triple-A Omaha on Monday after tossing a gem in Sunday's spot start against Seattle.
EDGE Analysis
The move comes as expected after Junis was added to be the 26th man for Sunday's doubleheader. He's 4-2 with a 4.70 ERA in 10 games (seven starts) with the big-league club this season. At Triple-A, hitters have been overpowered by the 24-year-old in 2017 (2.92 ERA and 86 strikeouts through 71 innings), and it's widely expected Junis will be a mainstay in the Royals rotation next season.

Junis allowed one run on just four hits over eight innings of a 9-1 win over Seattle on Sunday. He struck out seven and didn't issue a walk.
EDGE Analysis
What a performance by the 24-year-old, who had been called up to be the team's 26th man and make a spot start for the second half of a doubleheader. Junis will likely head back to Triple-A Omaha, but Sunday's gem of a performance could prompt the Royals to give him additional action with the big club. Through 44 innings this year, Junis owns a 4.70 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 16:37 BB:K.

Junis was recalled from Triple-A Omaha in advance of his spot start in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader with the Mariners, Joel Goldberg of Fox Sports Kansas City reports.
EDGE Analysis
Junis will serve as the Royals' 26th man for the twin bill and will likely be headed back to Omaha immediately after making the spot start. The 24-year-old has impressed at Triple-A this season with a 2.92 ERA and 86:15 K:BB over 71 innings, but he wasn't able to come remotely close to matching that success over nine appearances (six starts) with the big club earlier the campaign. Junis enters Sunday's start with a 5.50 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 30:16 K:BB over 36 innings.

Junis is expected to be recalled and start the second game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Mariners, Pete Grathoff of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Teams are allowed to add a 26th man on days when there is a doubleheader, and it looks like Junis will be that guy. The right-hander has bounced between levels this season, making a combined total of 18 starts for Triple-A Omaha and the Royals. Junis has been strong in his role at Triple-A, managing a 2.92 ERA over 71 innings.
