Junis was officially recalled by the Royals on Tuesday, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Seth Maness was optioned down to make room on the roster for Junis, who will make his second career start and fourth career appearance in the majors Tuesday against the Astros. The right-hander has been excellent at Triple-A Omaha this year, posting a 2.34 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 57:8 K:BB over 42.1 innings, and it looks like he will get an extended look with Danny Duffy (oblique) out six-to-eight weeks.

Junis will be called up from Triple-A Omaha to start Tuesday against the Astros, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Junis will assume the rotation spot vacated by Danny Duffy, who was diagnosed with an oblique strain last week and will be sidelined for six-to-eight weeks. The right-hander performed capably in his lone other start this season May 21 against the Twins, conceding two runs on five hits and three walks over 4.2 innings, but he's been much more impressive at Omaha. In seven outings for the Triple-A squad spanning 42.1 innings, Junis has compiled a 57:8 K:BB to go with a 2.34 ERA and 0.97 WHIP. He'll get a tough matchup in his return to the Royals against the AL-leading Astros, but Junis lines up for a more favorable landing spot in his second start of the week Sunday against the Padres at Petco Park.

Junis was optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander will head back to Omaha after getting the start in Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader. Junis went 4.2 innings against the Twins, surrendering two earned runs while racking up four strikeouts. His move down to Triple-A opens a roster spot for Game 2 starter Ian Kennedy.

Junis was recalled from Triple-A Omaha and will start Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Twins, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the Royals taking on the Twins in a doubleheader Sunday, Junis will be called upon for a spot start. The 24-year-old had made two clean relief appearances for the big-league club earlier this season, but Sunday's start will be the first of his career. In five starts with Triple-A Omaha, Junis holds a 3.07 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and an impressive 36:7 K:BB ratio. He'll face a Twins team that has posted a collective .759 OPS as a team against right-handed pitching this season.

Junis was optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Just a day after being recalled from Omaha, Junis is headed right back. Junis has thrown two shutout innings over two games in the majors this season. He'll figure to return to the starting rotation at Omaha, where he owns a 3.52 ERA and 1.13 WHIP for the year.

Junis walked a pair -- one of which was intentional -- and struck out two over a scoreless inning to earn his first career victory Monday in Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
The 24-year-old right-hander picked up the win just hours after being recalled Tuesday. Junis danced around a leadoff walk like a veteran, suggesting he's ready to handle himself in the bigs. After the second batter of the 11th inning laid down a successful sacrifice bunt, Junis intentionally walked Corey Dickerson to set up a potential double play. Rather than induce a grounder, the rookie proceeded to strike out two of the Rays' most dangerous hitters -- Brad Miller and Evan Longoria. Whether Junis sticks around remains to be seen, but it's likely the organization would rather continue developing him as a starter at Triple-A Omaha than work out of the Royals bullpen.

Junis was recalled from Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
He has been used as a starter at Triple-A, and the thinking is that he could offer some depth behind Tuesday's starter, Chris Young, who is unlikely to log a quality start. Junis replaces Scott Alexander, who was placed on the 10-day DL with a hamstring strain, in the Royals' bullpen. The 24-year-old righty has a 3.52 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 27:4 K:BB in 23 innings in the Pacific Coast League.

Junis was optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The Royals are set to make a corresponding roster move ahead of Tuesday's series opener against the Giants. Junis, who was recalled Wednesday, made one appearance during his stint with the Royals, tossing one scoreless frame while allowing two walks and a hit. He figures to slot back into the bullpen once he gets back to Omaha.

Junis was recalled from Triple-A Omaha on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The 24-year-old pitched well in his season debut at Omaha, allowing just two runs across 6.1 innings while fanning seven batters, so he'll get the chance to make his inaugural major-league appearance. Junis will add some length to the Royals bullpen, but likely will be limited to relatively low-leverage situations.

Wed 4/5/17 1:24 PM

Junis will begin the 2017 season as a member of the starting rotation for Triple-A Omaha, MLB.com's Jim Callis reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander began last season at Double-A Northwest Arkansas and went 9-7 with a 3.25 ERA over 119 innings (21 starts). Junis was later promoted to Triple-A where he struggled mightily (7.20 ERA) in six outings to end the year. The 24-year-old has flown a bit under the radar compared to other pitchers in the Royals system, but Junis has demonstrated above-average control while posting decent strikeout rates throughout his five minor-league seasons. With a full season of quality outings at Triple-A, he'll become a contender for a MLB rotation spot next spring.
